Learn Korean

Yay~~ I have registered for Korean classes starting from 2 Aug. So happy and excited!! I am so looking forward to learn the language. I think I will be able to learn Korean better than French. First of all, I will get more chances to hear korean with all the videos on internet.

In fact, I have picked up some korean words already from watching so many interviews and variety shows. Like 'What?!', 'Really?', 'Thank you', 'Fool', 'brother' etc...

I won't get lots of chances to speak though. I only have a cousin learning it already and a friend staying in Seoul. Previously, I spoke alot of French with my ex so my french speaking was not too bad in the past. Now very rusty. lol.

I am also starting my dance class on 4 Aug. It's the first time I am learning how to dance. I hope I am not those kind that can never learn dancing. I think I am not ba, since my hand-leg coordination is not too bad. Heh.. So looking forward. I haven't register for it. Must find a time next week to go to the dance school.

Anyone want to join me?

Penang Trip

Lots of things happened in Penang, some are not so suitable to be blogged but others are fine. LOL...

Although it was a short 3-day trip, it was very happening. Lots of things can happen in 3 days and make the trip seems like forever.

This time, I shared room with May. Usually I share room with my mum if my mum goes but I think this is the first time that I am sharing room with May. That is a good thing too because May brought her iPad.

So every night I will tell May to lend me her iPad cuz I wanna read news. So she lent me. And I happily read my news.

Xin En popped over and saw me reading news and that my news are not really NEWS. I told her I am very busy because I subscribed to Suju's newsletter and because they got 13 members, I have got tons of email alerts in my mailbox everyday. Therefore I have to read the news everyday to clear my mailbox.

May said that she thought I was so concerned with world affairs that I have to read news everday.

Well, this is also considered world affairs. Hahahaha.. There are lots of news about super junior's preformances in the world.

So it's also worldwide news. And it is my 精神粮食 in this arduous trip.

May Teng's iPad became my ipad I think. Cuz I used it the most in Penang. LOL... Pardon me... I am a very busy person.

死 May

Yesterday 死May wrote to me, "I don't see anything great about Super Junior."

She is looking for trouble with me.

She didn't know how to write the word 死.

Then she continued,"You are weird... They are too pretty face..."

And now she got a problem with pretty faces.

What's so weird with loving Kpop and a group with pretty faces??? IMO, I think it's very blessed to be borned with pretty faces like the Super Junior's members. :P

Come on la.... She likes xiao shengs who have masculine faces, aka females with masculine faces.

So what's the issue with men with feminine faces? Isn't it the same? Females with masculine faces are the same as males with pretty faces.

Period.

Too bad for her, she is missing out a whole lot of awesome-ness!!! :D

With so much pressure I am handling now, it's good that there is something I can rely on to make my day a good one. It's better than May Teng whose idol, Ah Cheng, has nothing to entertain her at all!!! Oops, sorry, I mean Ah Cheng don't have new things to entertain her. She can only listen to old songs or watch the dramas.

I am going to pick up Korean in August.

May then wrote to me again, "Are you crazy? Are you trying to be multi-lingual? You already learnt French."

I want to know what Super Junior are talking about in their interviews!!! :( :( :(

She is now waiting for my kpop craze to be over so I can concentrate on my opera again.

Oh, and my mum after watching 'MR Simple' MV so many times (Because I put it on loop on my TV though I am not watching it), she can now do the chorus dance part!! Though she didn't do it very well, she caught the essence of the dance, the hand shaking part.

My brother say... Super Junior hand cramp ah....

Ponyo

Ponyo came to my place to stay for a week while she was here for a performance. Though she stayed at my place, we hardly had time to go out together! She is super occupied and moreover she has many people to entertain while she was here. So she got no time to entertain me. Except at night before sleeping where we will chat a little.

I think she is enjoying herself now that she has got her own little work place in China. She opened up her own Nanyin work station where she is giving classes and performing on her own. Being her own boss, she has more free time to do whatever she wants.

During her stay here, we only had time to go out together once to watch a midnight show. We wanted to see Prometheus but the seating wasn't good. We wanted to see I.AM but it is a GV exclusive, we were watching at Shaw. So in the end we watched Snow White and the Huntsman.

This is the only picture we took... And ponyo was saying that I look super high... because I was talking on the phone with May regarding hair pcs prior to taking this photo so I was in a high mood. Ponyo said that I am crazy, cuz I looked like I was talking to my lover or something.. lol...

Actually Ponyo was my movie partner when she was in SG, now that she is gone, I am back to watching movies alone again~! Oh well.. c'est la vie!

I AM.

Today I went to watch the I AM. Smtown movie. It's not a fiction movie for those who didn't see it. It's a ducumentary of the Kpop groups in the SM Entertainment Company. I had to watch this because I love SuJu and Shinee's songs. I have a playlist of their songs in the office and they loop the whole day. lol.... So addicted to listening to them.

Watching I AM brings shiokness to a whole new level!! I was like so shiok to hear Sorry Sorry, Mr Simple, Replay and Lucifer in the theater. The music was loud and the great sound system just blasted me off. The movie was quite expensive, $16 for non-members, $13 for members because it's an exclusive movie. But the price was worth it!!! It was so shiok that I wanna watch it again!!!

I wouldn't say all the members in Shinee and Suju are handsome. Some are really not that handsome but all of them have a certain charm when they do they perfectly choreographed dance.

In the movie, we can see how they practiced and how they trained. Though not alot on that, more on the glam, I still can see the toughness they went through. The korean music companies are famous for their harsh contracts.

After watching the movie and feeling super shiok, I went to meet May for kopi. She said that she has the highest exposure on my blog. Well, thats true because there is basically nothing much to write about YH. And some other friends whom I often go out with might find it offensive to be written.

I told her stuff like I am very tired etc and that I basically have no time for myself and do things that I like. Sometimes I feel that Opera is taking a toll on my life. I need to find a balance in this.

She looked at me with the expressionless face like YH. I said she probably can't understand becaus she doesn't have other hobbies beside opera. She said she has, her hobby is cooking.

I told her, cooking is NOT a hobby!! It's a goddam chore.

A chore is not a hobby...

Cooking is something that housewives are obligated to do even if they don't wanna do it. No choice. She insisted that cooking is her hobby. Ok so be it.

Then I told her I got like lots of interest, so many things I want to do. Like this August, Ekin got a concert in HK but I can't attend, my friends are going there for the concert, I am very tempted to go too!!

Haiz, it's very sad lor. I also wanna see Shinee or Suju's concert, though I know a bit hard cuz I got to camp at the sistic website to snatch tickets.

I said that she won't understand because she doesn't have an idol.

She said she has and her idol is Ah Cheng...

I told her can she stop replying me weird answers??? When I said hobbies, she said cooking. When I said idol, she said Ah Cheng.

She is very off lor....

I don't think I have any friends, ANY friends that ever ever ever told me her idol is Ah Cheng before. She is the first one. Faint or not?????

Latest Songs

I understand that my friends and me, being ardent fans of Chinese opera, have very little time to look at things outside the opera circle. We are always looking for new opera performances, listening to the music, learning to sing etc. We have no time or little time to do other stuff.

Fortunately for me, I can look at the latest entertainment around in my job therefore keeping me in touch with the outside world.

There was a period of time when I was quite afraid that the trend outside has moved so fast that I will not be able to appreciate them. Like recently, I just don't find the Mando Pop nice anymore. I used to love mpop but I think they are not my kind of music now. Have I grown old and out of touch?? OMG!!!

LOL.....

Thank god, I turned my head around and found out that I now prefer Wpop and Kpop. They sound so much better than the latest Mpop.

The first one, Up All Night by One Direction:

It's not very often that I love all the songs in one album but I really love all the songs in One Direction's album! Up All Night is light hearted and great for a sing-along.

The 2nd one will be I Like It Like That by Hot Chelle Rae:

Not every Hot Chelle Rae's songs I will find appealing but this one is addictive.

Then here are the Kpop, Opera by Super Junior!:

I don't understand how can people not like Suju's songs like this one, Opera. So mega nice! And super addictive, I am listening to this everyday! And their clothes also super nice! I like this kind of clothes.. very cool.

Kpop number 2, Mr Simple by Super Junior:

Another Suju's songs that I listen to everyday. I love their choreography, simplistic and charming!

I also like Shinee's song like Always Love and Lucifer etc but I think their choreography is more complicated that Suju's. Like Shinee's Replay (another song in my daily playlist) is also very nice but the dance moves are very complicated:

My Evil Rings

Recently there was a sale at Diva and I bought some rings there cuz a few of mine were losing the colour. I chose some that I really liked and happily wore them when I got home...

My mum said that ALL my rings make me look like I belong to some evil sect, 邪教. I never thought they looked like some evil sect accessories. It never crossed my mind when I bought them. Now thinking back, I did bought alot of accessories that looks like evil sect stuff. Like I got this big ass necklace with big crosses all over it. I love that necklace man. And I got a braclet and a hair band with a skull on it.

My friend told me it's unlucky to wear skulls.. Well.. Who cares, I am already so unlucky, can't be anymore unluckier right?

Anyway do you like my rings??? LOL...

Seriously, I don't like cute sweet stuff.. so I dunno why I am a hua dan... Unlike may teng, she like cute, furry stuff.... I don't. I hate it. I don't like hello kitty. I like pink though... but still, I like weird eccentric things.

Avengers

Finally after a failed rendezvous with Amai and FM, and after May Teng dua-ed me, I went to see Avengers today. Though I went alone, I don't feel bored, in fact I think watching movies is the perfect thing to do when you are alone cuz you don't have to talk, just concentrate on watching.

As I have been following the Marvel movies, online or in cinema, I roughly knows what each character is doing. May Teng told me that Avengers was not as good as she has expected, in fact some parts were boring to her. I think that is mostly because she didn't watch the other Marvel movies like Iron Man 1/2, Thor, The Hulk and Captain America.

If I am her, I think I will be bored too. I wouldn't know what the hell is going on! And the story proceeds very fast so it will be good to have some background. Moreover, the actors speak very fast so sometimes you might not catch what they are saying.

Overall , I enjoyed it.

And which hero I like best?? Hmm.. Well I like Captain America cuz he is cute. lol... But I also like Thor because I like mythology. Thor and Loki both comes from this Norse mythology and between them I prefer Thor cuz he is better looking and he looks stronger and he is the good guy! Hahahaha....

I also like Stark's jokes. They are super funny~ lol....

There were lots of movies on mythology and I am a big fan of them. Like previously I watched Thor and I loved it, there are so many different and interesting gods. And I am sort of familiar with quite a few gods because my games always mention them. Like in one of my games, Loki was the final boss. Loki is always the bad guy in games and stories and movies. He is always stealing things.

Not to be confused with Greek Mythology, as the Greek gods are Zeus, Poseidon, the Titans etc.

They are like 2 different things altogether.

Ok, so much digressing on mythology~

I can't wait to see Avengers 2 and also Thor 2 and also Iron Man 3!!!

Singlish

Recently there has been some trends in the way people speak. Like some people (May Teng for example) like to imitate the Taiwanese style or some others copying the Korean style or even the China style. They will add in those lingos which are uncommon in Singapore when they speak.

There is nothing wrong with using other people's lingo, I am not saying that there is anything wrong with it.

I have lots of overseas friends and it's true that sometimes I imitate the way they speak when I speak with them. Just for fun lol.. There was a period of time where I like to imitate the french accent. Example, they will speak like 'Zis is ze place. Zey are not ere yet.' (this is the place, they are not here yet, in french, there is not 'H' sound)

Of cuz I don't do this to my other friends, they will think I am nuts.

Actually, I sort of like the way singaporeans speak singlish. Now that we have so many foreigners in Sg, we must have some sort of 'Speak Singlish' campaign too. To prevent this unique language from extinction. With the influence of foreigners, like some of my friends who are picking up foreign accents, our own singlish will disappear soon!! Zis is not good!

So I think besides promoting Chinese and English, we should promote Singlish too.

Save our 'wah lao eah,' 'sibeh sian' or 'pek cek'.... We encourage Singaporeans to say 'wah lau eah' at least once a day! lol...
