Typing speed test

My mum told me that she like listening to me typing sometimes. So bored at home, I decided to take a typing speed test.

I just did one and the result is :

Your speed was 50 WPM with 1 mistake (adjusted speed 49 WPM)

Then I took a second test:

Your speed was: 53wpm. You made 2 mistakes.

Erm.. so I guess my average is 50 wpm but I can't continuously type like that for more than 10 mins.. my fingers will break!

My IQ~

I just did an online IQ test which Amai introduced to me and here are the results! hahaha:

Your IQ score is 105. This means that you are smarter than 64.0% of all other Super IQ test takers.

This number is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on the Tickle Super IQ Test.

But there's more to intelligence than a single number, a single score, or a single label. Tickle uses 8 distinguishable dimensions of intelligence in the Super IQ Test. By analyzing your individual scores on those 8 scales, we are able to look beyond the raw IQ score into how you process information, and which intellectual strengths you're best at.

Your test results indicate that the way you process information makes you an Information Organizer.

You have a great eye for detail. Within seconds, you could scan a page and find the one mistake on it. You're also able to organize things in a sensible way, arranging and structuring information so that it's easier to understand. This set of strengths makes you a very valuable resource for others who don't see things systematically or who don't have the patience, focus, or interest in catching their own mistakes.

Generally, people with your eye for spotting inconsistencies or disorganized information, are more inclined to want to edit or rework rather than create. Rather than write for the sake of expressing new ideas or read for the sake of obtaining knowledge, you're more interested in the structure of the information and what that might imply. Be aware that sometimes it's hard for traditional intelligence tests — unlike this one — to pick up your particular set of abilities because the talent of spotting inconsistencies and organizing information is much harder to measure than other abilities are.

Results on each scale yo~:

Your organizational ability score is 99 out of 100.
Your spatial ability score is 88 out of 100.
Your verbal ability score is 84 out of 100.
Your logical ability score is 76 out of 100.
You mechanical ability score is 73 out of 100.
Your visual ability score is 66 out of 100.
Your numerical ability score is 62 out of 100.
Your abstract reasoning ability score is 42 out of 100.

Very bored

Xmas day and 26 Dec, I am very bored. No one asked me out! Haiz.. Really bored to tears man. As i said before, because I spent too much time doing opera, I have neglected lots of my friends. Hence, on a fine day like this, I am at home... *sobz*

Sad, just smsed my friend to ask if she is free to come out, but she did not reply yet. :(

X'mas is coming~!

This weekend is Christmas. Time flies! I can't even remember what I did last christmas! Did I went for a countdown? Hahaha.. I remembered, I went to Maldives where I almost met the Tsunami. So good to celebrate Christmas somewhere nice and relax.

This year, unfortunately, I have a performance on Christmas Eve. I wanted to meet up with my ex classmates thise Christmas but because of my show, I can't. I will probably meet up with a good friend to count down, that is if I can't reach town area in time.

Details of coming show:

Title: Mr Xue and Miss Fan (I translated the title! :P)
Date: 24 Dec 2005
Time: 7pm sharp! (Teacher says, we will start at 7pm sharp regardless if the audience are in or not because we need to clear the place by 10pm)
Venue: Tampines East CC
Price: $10 ($15 sold out already)

In case anyone interested, can go and see.

This time, I love the costume that Ang is going to let me wear. I think it's really nice though the embroidery is not delicate enough, overall, I still like the design. :D

Hee hee, I find that some parts of the show is very funny! It is funnier than the last time we did it as Ang added some songs to it. The originally 1hr 15 minutes show is now 2 hr 05 min. Ang added some very funny songs for Susan and Wanxin and I can't help laughing when I saw them rehearse. Especially Susan. She is a born San Hua.

******************************

Lastly, a poem which I have always liked.

相见时难别亦难,东风无力百花残。
春蚕到死丝方尽,蜡炬成灰泪始干。
晓镜但愁云鬓改,夜吟应觉月光寒。
蓬山此去无多路,青鸟殷勤为探看。

Taxi Driver 3

It's crazy that I can actually keep running into weird taxi drivers.

Yesterday, after a long singing session, I was really tired so I took a taxi home.

Some bastards as usual kept walking in front of me to get the cab, these kind of people should go to hell.

2 bangala overtook me and were standing a few feet infront. Pissed, I overtook them (and glared at them in the process) also and managed to get a cab.

Immediately when I board the cab, the indian taxi driver said,"Welcome to my Taxi!"

I just laughed and said,"Hougang St 11, please go by CTE."

The indian taxi driver asked me what I was doing so late in Chinatown etc. I wasn't really keen to talk to him as I was very tired.

He asked me if I am living at block 150+, I told him no, I am living at 140+.

Taxi: Give me any street in Singapore and I can tell you the block.

Me: Oh really?

Taxi: yah, go on and ask me!

Me: well.. ok.. Serangooon Ave 2.

Taxi: *thinks awhile* Blk 200+

Me: yeah... correct.

Then I kept quiet hoping that the driver will leave me alone.

Taxi: Guess how come I know all the blocks in Singapore. Go on guess..

Me: I don't know.

Taxi: come on. Just make a guess.

Me: Because you have been driving for a long time.

Taxi: No. wrong.. I have been driving for 9 years only.

Me: You deal with properties before?

Taxi: No... wrong.. I was an electrician before...

(quiet for awhile.... good.. I can have peace... but i guessed wrongly)

Taxi: Ask me questions. Any questions.

Me: I don't have questions to ask. ( I hope the driver will leave me alone if i said this but hell no.)

Taxi: Go on! Ask me something.

Me: Really nothing to ask.

Taxi: (quiet for a moment) Ask me something.

Me: I can't think of anything to ask.

Taxi: It means your brain is limited.

Me: (what the hell) Not that my brain is limited but I am afraid you cannot answer my questions. I have too many weird questions.

Taxi: No problem, go on ask me! Any questions.

Me: Any question? Fine. (I am ready to ask him something he won't know) I love Chinese opera and really I think that it is a difficult art to master.

Taxi: Oh Chinese opera. Do I look like a chinese to you? But Chinese opera is indeed a difficult art.

(hahaha.. he must be surprised I popped a question like that. I hope he will leave me alone so I popped another question.)

Me: I am interested in Cosmology.

Taxi: (quiet)

Me: (bet he didn't know what it is) It's about the study of the universe. Gravity, the big bang, Worldline. I think it is really wonderful.

Taxi: Yah.. science is an interesting subject.

Me: ( seems like he can't really contribute anything to my topics. hahaha.) Uncle, please go by Serang....

Taxi: Don't tell me what to do, you are not trusting my profession. I am professional you know. I know where to go...

Then he rattled on about finding difficult places before.. and....... he drove to the way which I didn't want.

I wanted him to go by Serangoon but he went by another road. Ya right, trust your profession and you went the wrong way.

Finally, I reached, I said,"Stop at the condo infront.'

Taxi: That's not a condo, that's a HUDC.

Me: Yah, I live there, I know it's a HUDC. (fedup)

Taxi: You want to know how come I know all the blocks in Singapore?

Me: Yah why?

Taxi: I used to fix the cables for the televisions in Singapore and we went around to all the block in Singapore to fix it.

Me: Oh. That's good.

Taxi: Yah So I literally went to all the blocks in Singapore but I am tired of a job like this. My kids are big already, no need to work so hard.

Me: Yah, enjoy life. (opened taxi door)

Taxi: Hey, what's you name?

Me: Miko.

Taxi: Nice to talk to you, Miko.

Me: Yah, good night! (closed door)

Please.. I want peace in taxis...

My friend's weird habit

This is a short post about my friend's weird habit.

One day, I was in a good friend's home and I saw something weird in the toilet.

My friend lives alone, how come there are 3 tubes of toothpaste and 3 toothbrush?!

The reason is very ridiculous:

One set is for the morning, one for the afternoon, one for the night.

I can only say that it's madness.

One Big Rainy Day at SL

I went to Sl for singing practice a few weeks ago. (Yes, i took the photos a two weeks ago but I did not blog it till now.)

As usual, Steven and Feiyou were there. BTW, FY is in the army now, serving our country, protecting our homes. Hahaha.....

I went on with my singing lesson and they went on practicing their instruments or goof around. Then our little princess arrived.

Little princess, bao bao. She was making a phone call to Biyu's son. Heard from Mei-E that bao bao and ming feng are good friends. She has a really cute voice and she seems like she really had fun talking to Ming Feng on the phone. hehehe... BTW, if you are curious about the pair of legs at the background, those legs belongs to FY.

After my singing class, Mei-E suggested to go drink beer. I don't drink but I went anyway. They ordered 2 heinekens and they insisted i drink abit. So they filled about 1/4 of the mug with beer. I took a real long time to drink up.

After that, they insist that I must 'yam seng' with them. So I said," a little bit will do!" but they still fill up another 1/4 mug of beer for me... #$$%$#%

They ordered some fried squids to go along with the beer but Mei-E thought that fried squids sucks. Anyway, she got her own sour plums to go with the beer. Steven and FeiYou thought it was funny to drink beer with sour plums but Mei-E said it's a common practice in China. *shrugs*

And then something unfortunate happened! *KABOOM*

It started to rain.

Aaaahh.... Now we are stuck in the coffee shop!

Very bored, we started to talk rubbish and Mei-E decided to tell them about my distorted fingers.

Mei: You know Yuying's fingers very flexible, can be bent to a funny angle!

S,F: Issit?! Show me leh!!

So I 'performed' for them and they were like.. 'wooo...' 'ahhhh...' and tried to do the same thing to their fingers but they can't. Steven even took a photo of my bent fingers! Mad!

Then Feiyou told me that he has really big hands and he showed them to me.

That is not a big hand. Those are very long fingers! Now then I know that Feiyou has got super long fingers. His thumb is a bit distorted and bent because he plays too much Er-hu. Not bad.. hardworking.

Now you compare Feiyou's hand with Steven's.

See the diff? hee hee, Steven is a flute player but his fingers are not as long as FY's.

FY is very interested in photography and he took a few pictures of the rain. I decided to take some too. Hee hee.. Rain rain go away, come again another day.

When the rain got smaller, I think it was almost 11pm, we decided to go back. I wanted to go back earlier but they insisted to wait for the rain to stop.

*****************************

Digressing abit, Biyu's mother, tiam soh, thinks that Steven is very suitable to do Xiao Sheng for opera because of his looks. So she kept calling Steven, Xiao Sheng. hahaha. I think it is a funny name. At first I was bewildered how come Tiam soh call Steven as Xiao Sheng. hee hee....

Both me and Mei-E agrees that FY is more suitable to do San Hua. He is not very tall and I think he got a comical face. Steven, on the other hand, is quite tall but he may need to lose some weight.

However, these 2 guys said that they are not interested to act because they are scared. Everyone will be scared on the first attempt. That's normal but they said that they will be too nervous and forget everything. Too bad, if not, we will be able to recruit 2 potential students.

:D

My office

I have a few things to blog about today cuz I accumulated alot of photos.

Alrighty, the first thing is about my office. One fine day, I was too bored in my office so i took some photos.

This is my desk and the red thing you see in the picture is my neopet, Shoryu. Hee hee... Isn't he cute? Cutey! muacks!

The pink waterbottle is what I use to hold my drinking water. I don't have a mug over there so I cannot make any milo or coffee. I can only drink water in the office which is a good thing also. Milo and coffee will make me fatter I think.

My father gave me the golden horse. He believes that the golden horse will bring me luck in the office. He told me to place the horse with the head facing the door. So I did. The other misc stuffs are my charger, pen and calculator, even part of my handbag is in the photo. Hahaha..

I know this entry is very boliao. hahaha.. but that's what I am.

Time travelling?

Recently, Channel 48 on SCV is showing 'Xu Qin Ji'. It is about a man who traveled through time and went back to the qin dynasty.

After watching the first episode of this show, I was baffled by how can a man travel through time? I know that according to Einstein's theory, travelling through time is possible if the object travel faster than light. Bu how can travelling faster than ligh allows someone to go back in time or go into the future? How???!!!! I am really very very curious about this and i want to know why!

I know that it has got to do with Einstein's theory of general relativity but the article is too hard for me to understand.

I saw in Wikipedia all the graphs and pictures explaining the world line. It is very interesting. I saw this following line:

'Points in an observer's present are inaccessible to her/him; only points in the past can send signals to the observer.'

It means that what we see now is infact not really exactly NOW. What we see and what we hear happens in the past. For example, we look into the sky and we saw the sun but the sun is not what it is now, it is what it was 8 minutes ago because the light from the sun takes 8 minutes to reach our eyes.

Imagine that there is someone on the sun and the someone wants to go back into the past to see what it was like, so he has to travel faster than light to reach earth so that he can see what the sun was like 8 minutes ago? But can we not travel into the space to go back into the past? Can we travle on the spot to go back?

I think i will print out the article and hopefully one day, someone will explain to me.....

Something happened at Pizza Hut

I remembered something which happened at Pizza Hut some time ago but i did not blog it. I think we were in the Pizza Hut of Heartland Mall. At first, we were happily looking at the menu, deciding what to eat.

It was a happy day but an accident happened. My sister tried to eat a slice of pizza with the 'slicing pizza tool'. I don't know what's that called. My mum was shocked! Immediately, she stretched our her arm and BAM!

She knocked over a glass of coke.

Right into the empty pizza pan, fortunately.

Look at the coke in the pan. Maybe it is not so clear, so i took a shot of the crime scene.

This is the crime scene, you see the ice?

My mum is very pissed off with my sis for being an idiot, causing her to knock over the glass.

My sister is also very sian about getting scolded.

And my mum showed a back face too!

That's my mum's black face and my sister's glum face. :D

Hahaha.... anyway that day all 3 of us were wearing red t-shirts! They are copy cats!

Cactus at the junction

There was once i went to lunch with my colleagues at a kopitiam. This kopitiam is situated at a corner of a junction. My friend told me that the cactus is there to block away all accidents. As the kopitiam is at the corner of the junction, it is more prone to accidents.....

That is the first time i heard of something like this so i took a photo of the cacti.

Cryptozoology

Cryptozoology means the study of hidden animals.

I love cryptozoology because I am curious.

Ok ok..... first of all.... Let me introduce the most famous cryptid. (cryptid=hidden animal)

Mr Loch Ness!

Loch Ness monster is also known as Nessie. Loch Ness is the largest lake in England, Scotland, and it could reach a depth of 900 feet.

Nessie is a monster living in the Loch Ness Lake. It is believed to have a long neck and 2 humps on its back like a camel. Its skin is grey and it has 2 flippers. Sightings has provided information that this monster can grow up to 40 feet long. Some people believe that it is Plesiosaur. Plesiosaur is a term for marine reptiles with long necks and flippers. However, Plesiosaurs are believe to have extinct 70 million years ago.

There are many sightings for this monster but no one was able to capture a truly clear photograph yet. However, there are some exciting videos. There was one which show a creature swimming in zig zag across the lake with 2 humps on its back but the film was not clear enough and it did not capture the head of Nessie.

Anyway, believe it or not!

Bigfoot

I am sure many people have heard of the bigfoot. It is believed to be a man-like ape which walks on 2 legs which is often sighted in North-west America's forests. There are alot of sightings for the Bigfoot and many unusual footprints were found.

There are other bigfoot sightings in other places too. In the peaks of the Himalayas, some hairy man-like apes were sighted too. They were named 'Yeti'. This cryptid is similiar to the bigfoot and i think they belong to the same family but it is still strange that one can live in North-West American forest and the other is all the way at the peaks of Himalayas.

Alot of photos were taken of the bigfoot but none was clear enough to tell if it is actually a Gorilla or a Bigfoot.
Thunderbird

The Thunderbird is a legendary creature in North America which is said to bring thunder and rain. People claimed to have seen the Thunderbird with a wing span of 15 feet. That will be the largest bird in the world.

I will quote one of the sightings in Alaska where a massive bird was spotted. The quote was taken from CNN.com.

"At first I thought it was one of those old-time Otter planes," the paper quoted Moses Coupchiak, 43, a heavy equipment operator from Togiak, as saying. "Instead of continuing toward me, it banked to the left, and that's when I noticed it wasn't a plane."

The Daily News, the largest daily in Alaska, said scientists had no doubt that people in the region, west of Dillingham, had seen the winged creature but they were skeptical about its reported size.

"I'm certainly not aware of anything with a 14-foot wingspan that's been alive for the last 100,000 years," the paper quoted raptor specialist Phil Schemf as saying.

I can't find any pictures of the sighting though.

Champ

Lake Champlain is situated in North America. It is a big lake with a depth of 400 feet. Quite deep. The lake itself formed around 10,000 years ago at the end of the last Ice Age, so it is a very very old lake. I will not be surprise if there is something unusual lurking in such an old lake.

The description of Champ is very much like the Loch Ness monster. It is also believed to be Plesiosaur but some people believe that it might be just a large sturgeon fish. Most sightings describe a 15-25 feet long creature with a long neck and a dark coloured body with one or two humps.

So tired after typing, I will continue if there is other new findings or sightings! There are other interesting cryptids which I didn't include because it is hard to find pictures.

Until then~
