Gantz

I wasn't interested in this Japanese movie, Gantz, at first. But then I saw a trailer at the box office and changed my mind last minute to watch this show and I didn't regret it! It think the idea and concept is quite interesting and new.

So after watching the show, I was frustrated to see the words,"to be continued..."

Sian! Have to wait for part 2 to see the ending. So I went home very kan chiong to find the comics and read it.

The comics have like 37 books and my home simply cannot have anymore such stuff coming in so I read the comics online. I already bought 2 sets of comics, Deathnotes and Slamdunk and my mum has been urging me to throw slamdunk away. My slamdunk set is more than 8 years old le..

So now I am so addicted to reading Gantz that I spent almost every single free time I have reading it. I know I have important stuff to attend to but I am just so excited to know the ending that I have to continue reading it. I am at the 28 book already. Finishing soon!

Although this comic set is really nice and interesting, there is a part that I really don't like. That is there are a lot of sexual references. A lot of big boobs scantily clad women walking around throughout the series and I am really not interested in that. I just want to see the fighting and the story.

I was reminded, during reading, that a friend once told me that she finds comics very confusing. She doesn't know where to read from. I told her, very simple, for Japanese comics, read from right to left, top to bottome. Then for english, its the opposite. I don't read angmoh comics. I think they are sort of... the same... I love manga more...

Any nice manga to intro me??? But wait till I finish my important jobs first else I will spend days and night reading....

Thai Dance

I did this Thai dance thing on the day after the Great Election. LOL or General Election and very unfortuantely, my VIP that night was Miss Kate Spade.
Susan 显露她妩媚的一面~ Swee or not??

MY mum first time wear something like that! Actually we dunno how to do the Thai dance, we were just there to 充人数~ Although the VIP was TPL, the even went on well. We had a guest who suan TPL on stage but I think there is nothing much TPL can do about it. She can't possibly just stomp off right. So she stayed till the end of the whole event.

That night Nick hosted the event but he didn't really read political news so he doesn't know about TPL.

Ironically, we were acting a skit that night and I was wearing this nonya costume. Nick plays my husband and on stage he said that I am Little Nonya. And TPL's fierce rival in the GE was little nonya, Nicole Seah. So it was very ironic....

Still we finished the show without too many hiccups~

@ Daiso

Some time last week I went to Daiso with my parents and Yuxian. It was a super crowded saturday and Daiso was super mega crowded. We couldn't even get a trolley. My mum wanted to buy bowls and spoons etc. My mad sister was stuck at the hairband counter trying on all the different hairbands at the mirror. Tsk tsk....

I bought a pair of black stocking for opera use. Black stockings are very good for opera~ For holding up my super long hair!

Then we went to the toys counter and saw some really funny things. So I made my mum try it out.

This is my 秃头老妈~

Then we brought the mask to Yuxian but she refused to put it on. LOL But we managed to convince her~

I dunno why buy my sister thinks that this is a mask of a monk. It is actually not. It is a mask of 秃头~ LOL~

JB 2011

Today I went JB! YAY!

Going JB is fun because got a lot of things to see and buy~ Though I must say I am little disappointed today that one of the thing I bought got problems.

Anyway, I am supposed to meet KL at 10am and pick FM at 1030 but KL overslept! Poor FM waited at kopitiam in a huge rainy day for us to come. She cannot get sick you know, later Amai will come hamtam me.

We travelled smoothly into JB without jam. Actually got jam lah but KL cut here cut there then no jam liao... LOL, we very bad I know but no choice, time constrain mah. So the first thing when we got in was to have lunch and thus we have this KL ho gai siao...

KL ho gai siao number 1:

Bak kut teh!
This is the famous JB bak kut teh. Very crowded and finish very early one. FM likes it too and she told me that there isn't any bak kut teh in Taiwan. Therefore she sometimes buy packs of bak kut teh back for her mum so they can eat during winter. But I think packet bak kut teh is not that nice leh. KL thought that Bak kut teh originated from Taiwan. Apparently he is wrong. Like many people also thought Hainanese chicken rice comes from Hainan....

After the lunch we went to Holiday Plaza. Holiday Plaza is like a must-go place for a lot of Singaporeans. LOL... It is definitely a must-go place for me lah. We walked around, looked at many game shops. KL went to see his car things and me and FM shopped at the game shops. Heng FM also like to play games like me! So got people company me to walk around the shops looking at the game accessories etc.

We also got common topics like games, opera, taiwanese... yep, taiwanese is also a very good topic because I know more taiwanese than malaysians, indonesians, thai, china chinese..... And thank god she didn't think my continuous ranting is nonsense lor!

FM is happy with the tour at holiday plaza. She got the information she wanted and seen the things she wanted though she didn't buy. LOL. But seeing is also good. You know the price and you know the functions. Can plan then next time come in buy.

KL managed to find us in a game shop after he was done with his car things. LOL, so many shops there but he still managed to find us.

Then we went to the next must-go location, Giant. I need to go Giant everytime I go JB cuz I need to buy cooking oil. LOL! My whole family depended on me for cooking oil you know!! In future if KL never go JB with me then I cannot buy cooking oil liao. I also bought one big bucket for May Teng. I am a good friend lah, help her buy never mind..

FM bought a lot of chocolates! LOL, she is the chocolate queen. I also like but I don't really buy them... I bought a lot of cooking oil and some peanuts for my father. And also a bottle of cincalok which I dunno why he say Singapore dun have..

Really dun have meh? I tot it's quite a common thing here. Anyway, maybe JB is cheaper...

Later on we had KL ho gai siao number 2:

Da ma hua yuan...

LOL, I was telling FM about how ang dun like food that looks black and I asked her is she eats black food. I ordered this black stout ribs which is really black and she tried.

Apparently she likes it alot~ So this goes to shows that some taiwanese do eat black colour food. She goes back and told Amai about the black food she ate and amai was puzzled about it. She asked me what black food? LOL, now food is categorised into 2 category, white food and black food.

This black ribs got funny name, 黑啤骨. Sounds like black ass... LOL... We were laughing our heads off with this name. Today I also tried this salted egg with bitter gourd dish. DAMN NICE!!!! I like bitter gourd and this salted egg gave it a bitter and saltish taste. Can't really imagine these 2 tastes together right? But it's so amazing that they actually taste great together. FM likes the bitter gourd too. KL dun really comment alot. I think he ate until sian liao? But he told me he likes the bitter gourd too.

It's good to rant a bit to FM because she works in a line which understands my difficulties too. So when I kp, she can totally relate to it. And recently, I didn't have a chance to kp too much. In class, everyone doing their thing, May got many scenes so she cannot entertain me one lah, YH she always stone. Else she talk to some other people then I also think better don't kp in front of so many people. So today, it felt great to rant a bit. LOL. And FM can comprehend my ranting...

Kinda sianz leh.. Feel very demoralized and unmotivated. LOL...

But I am happy today's trip went well and that FM was very happy too. KL was abit in a rush to reach his dinner appointment so I think he quite nervous at the end of the trip. Heh~ But I know he also enjoyed because he accomplished what he wanted to do too~

PM and MM

This is so interesting that I must post here. So that those who don't follow the news can read too..

Remember the time when LKY says 'People of Aljunied, you will live to REPENT!'?

Then PM LHL replied with, 'MM is MM, his views remains his own'. He said:

THE current Cabinet's way of working with Singaporeans to get results is different from Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's way

While the elder Mr Lee understands the need for a different approach in working with a new generation of Singaporeans, he, however, cannot be other than himself in speaking his mind on issues.

'MM understands that, but MM is MM,' the Prime Minister said

'MM says: 'Why don't you do things in a certain way? Proceed, it's important, critical for Singapore.'

'And we say: 'Yes, we understand but, please, let us do it our way because we are different from you and it's a different generation of Singaporeans from the Singaporeans who worked with you and built this Singapore in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

Foreign Minister George Yeo, anchor minister in Aljunied GRC, said: 'I think it's good that PM made that clarification, because MM's remarks puzzled quite a lot of people.'

Yesterday, the Prime Minister also made it clear that he and his team are now the ones in charge.

'This is the PAP Government, me, my team, and we are taking it forward - same strategic direction but doing it our way. I hope voters will understand and will support what we are doing.'

Elaborating on his team's approach, he said: 'We understand the hard truths. We understand what we need to do but we cannot do it - and we don't try and do it - MM's style. We do it our way.

'And it's a difference in generations - between MM's team and my team, between your parents and you.'

Apparently, PM lee was freaked out by his father's comments and was scared that his father's words will piss off the PAP supporters. Thus he made a clear line drawing a line between him and his father. Tsk tsk.. later go back papa is going to punish his son liao....

LHL is still governing under his father's shadow.

So today on the news, MM Lee replied regardings the results of the election, 'couldn't say more, I am not the prime minister.

Got sparks leh~!! LOL..

GE Results

After staying up the whole night last night to watch the results of GE2011, I had mixed feelings about the entire result. First of all, I am very happy that Aljunied has voted for WP! It is time that there are alternate voices in the Parliament. PAP was good but when someone stay in power for too long, that person is bound to lose his/her focus. It has been proven so many times in history. Similiar Chinese saying, 富不过三代. Money and power can corrupt people. It is also repeatedly played in opera over and over and over again..

So I am happy that WP won Aljunied~

But I am also very sad that Potong Pasir is lost to PAP. I grew up there and ever since I was born, I keep hearing Chiam See Tong's name. I am sad that this warrior that has fought for PP for the past 27 years has to retired now. Potong Pasir residents didn't pay a single cent for their lift upgrade!!!

And those people who lived in Tampines.. They voted Mah into parliament. Residents in Tampines (who voted for PAP), don't kp and kb when you cannot buy a flat when you get married because flats too expensive. Don't kp when you cannot afford to pay COV. You voted for it... Thanks to them, we are going to have a $1million flat soon.. I wished that George yeo is in Tampines and MBT is in Aljunied lor.

Those people in Marine Parade (who voted pap). Thanks for voting Kate Spade in. Now we have one feet-stomping-dunno-what-to-say MP in the parliament. Don't kp when you go find kate spade to help you and kate spade tells u 'i dunno what to say'.

Please don't kp that living costs are high because if you can survive on the $600 PAP gave you..

Everyday I hear ppl kping about the government, about rising costs, about foriegners getting their jobs etc. My mum kp everyday about the gas going up, about the water bills going up.. I told her, vote opposition.. no point kp to me right. I not government.

Let's welcome the 1 million Foriegn Talents coming in with open arms and open legs! YAY!

Now that PAP won majority of the seats, MPs and most imptly MBT said he will look into the reason why voters didn't vote for them. HELLO?? Isn't it pretty obvious already?? Especially MBT. It is so freakin obvious why people didn't vote for him so why is he still so unsure?? It's blaring all over the internet that people buey song him because of HDB prices. These MPs now their vote percentage goes down they start saying things like PAP will reform, will think what is wrong with their system, will amend their mistakes etc. Now that election is over, all these will be forgotten.

I must post some funny quotes from the pro-opps to create some laughs.. I wanted to find funny quotes from pro-PAP but they don't have sense of humour. Too bad.

From a taxi driver: knn all the other GRCS all tok cock nia.....also alot of turncoats in potong pasir.......... lastly.....y??? y??? Y PAP WIN JOO CHIAT!!!! F!!!!!!!! Knn next week anyone going potong pasir reject going Aljunied free for 1 day

Then another taxi driver replied: Yah yah "HUh wat tampines?? i dun knoe how to go there...... Aljunied?? come come free ride....." :P

From facebook: I'm happy that Tin Pei Ling is in our government. Now everyone's truly represented. Even the intellectually disabled

From facebook: Marine Parade has 5 years to repent. But do not worry, Tin Pei Ling will show you how, right after she figures out what to say.

From forum: If a king has been slaying its peasants for 5 years, after that the peasants rebel and take over one of his castles, u think the king will say, alamak, must not kill any more peasants. listen to them, change my stance.....KILL THEM ALL LA! reconquer the castle, burn all the chao peasants and continue ruling with an iron fist

From Forum: Where is MM Lee? he is waiting for them to repent while at home watching cable tv and collecting $$.

From Forum: Goh said Wong Kan Seng & Mah Bow Tan not as important as Casino Yeo, can be sacked. I think we better play safe & vote all 3 out lah. Then can play golf together or something.

Then I saw some one holding up a sign that says 'Mahboro' with a skull drawn above it. Can't find the picture anymore. Else I post here...

Lastly, someone did a video with the Returning Officer's speech! LOL I listened to him whole night I can almost memorised his lines...

Gonna disable comments because this is purely my opinion, I am sure some pro-pap will flame me but I don't need to listen.

Cooling Day

Today is cooling day~ So we are all supposed to be cool lah I think.

I am still in a confused state of dunno who to vote because my place here belongs to AMK GRC. I moved here last year and my previous home was in Aljunied GRC! Damn damn damn damn!!!!!!

How I wish I am at Aljunied because then I will vote WP with no hesitation at all! Now my place here is LHL versus Reform and the candidates in Reform are not that fascinating. So I dunno~ I am not the most politically correct person (lol, sounds familiar?)!

Before nomination day was determined to vote for opposition. I come from opposition background. Hahahaa.. I grow up in PP, Potong Pasir. I love PP! I think it's one of the best place to live in. I know there are no malls unlike Serangoon got Nex but PP is like a little cosy village where everyone knows everyone! My parents at that time were opposition supporters. They always vote Chiam See Tong. I hear his name more often than any other politician's name.

Although PP has very little upgrading, I don't really care. I mean, I don't need lift on my floor. I am not lazy till I can't climb up a single flight of stairs for christ's sake. I used to live on the 12th floor in PP and my lift only stops at 11th floor. I have to walk to the end of the corridor, walk up one floor then reach my flat. Anyway, those rich ppl living in bungalows also have to climb stairs what.... Or maybe the rich MPs got escalators in their home? I dunno lah.

I was very sad when we moved out of PP. We got to a place where we always kana walkover. PAP just stepped over our heads like that. So when we got to Lorong Ah Soo, I was very happy to be able to vote in GE2006. I voted WP~ Though they never win, they won a pretty high percentage of votes! That is good.

This year I am very sad to be under AMK. I think LHL will win one lah. Why I am not under Aljunied or Hougang??? Hougang is very near to my home you know. Just like one street away.

This year, alot of my friends around my age are voting for opposition. Except for May Teng lah, she is a pappy. Maybe because she is not around my age? LOL. My ex-classmates are all oppies. One of my ex-classmates posted a photo of him holding a WP umbrella. Oh and I think the umbrella is a brilliant idea.

Many pappies said that if we don't vote for PAP, we are being ungrateful. I think otherwise. LKY and his old guards are good politicians. They built Singapore from nothing but that is all in the past. And we have already paid LKY millions and millions for his efforts. I don't think I want to keep living in the past and remember the old days and just forget about the future. Past is important, future is even more important.

The new PAP candidates that are taking over LKY and the old guards... you saw Tin Pei Ling???

She said, " I dunno what to say!" and stomps her feet! WTF??!!

Let's take a look at her video.

This video is not done by me. It has gone viral with more than 200k hits already. Tin Peiling will be paid $15000 per month for being a MP....

I think PAP was freaked out by the number of people attending the WP rallies. They are scared. So scared that LKY (May's idol) threaten Aljunied residents that they will repay for their mistake if they vote for WP and they will have 5 years to repent.

Now, George Yeo (PAP-Aljunied) said that LKY's speech "created greater anger, greater resentment in many people".

From a report about George Yeo's rally:

As he embarked on the "most intense" election campaign in his political career and observed the "outpouring of pent-up emotion" from voters, Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo and his team came to a conclusion: "The PAP must be transformed."

Acknowledging the "resentment against the government", the Minister who is heading the People's Action Party's Aljunied GRC team said, the PAP government needs to exercise "flexibility" in its programmes and treat its citizens as "human beings".

You see, he said that PAP needs to treat its citizens as human beings. You mean to say PAP never treat citizens like humans in the past? Then in the past they treat citizens as what?? Dogs ah???

And he says PAP need to transform. How come in the past never say want to transform. Now 2 days from voting day then say want to transform???

Then did you all hear about our minister, Khaw Boon Wan, asking Singaporeans to send their old folks to JB if they think Singapore old folks home are too expensive? Is it because old folks cannot contribute to Singapore anymore so can send them to JB? The old folks are those who supported PAP in the past lor.

Here is an excerpt from the article:

A plug for these homes came in Parliament on Monday from Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan, who said Singaporeans could save money by using JB nursing homes. For what it costs to board someone in a private nursing home here, 'you can stretch it easily to pay for at least 21/2 months of nursing home care in Johor Baru', he said. The facilities there typically charge between $450 and $1,000 a month, compared to those here which ask for between $1,000 and $4,000.

Mr Khaw said another perk is that JB is 'near enough for relatives to visit'.

So mean!

Then we still got Vivian Balakrishnan who overspent on YOG budget by 4 times.

And just now I saw this posted in a forum. I was very very shocked because apparently MOE is hardselling Singapore's PR to foreign students!!! Do we really need to sell our PRs like that????

though i am very against the influx of FTs, i still treat them like a fellow being and have never look at them with a different perspective.

i was having lunch with a PRC colleague. shes a 24yr old gal who just graduated from NTU and now working in a MNC while waiting for PR approval.

just started a casual topic like, wad do u like about this country and how are u coping so we get the standard reply. wad stuns me, was the answer to my next question.

me: " so wad makes u decide to come here"

PRC: " i didnt"

me: " wa, ur parents force u here or ur bf is here"

PRC: "neither, ur SG gahment invited us here"

me: " huh, wad do u mean"

PRC: " ur MOE went to our school in our village and told us they URGENTLY need students here, infact they were hardselling the whole scheme and many of us signed up"

me: " huh, wad did they offer"

PRC: " they offer us, ALL Expenses paid for our fees in NTU, including lodging and we even get pocket money"

me: *mouth open

PRC: "on top of that, they have send me the INVITATION letter to apply for PR after we grad"

i seriously begin to wonder the magitude of the FT problem has many more sides that many of us do not know,

i lose my pride as a sgporean after hearing this and i really wonder do they really care ?

if u give a PR who starts a business here and bring jobs to sgporeans, by all means.

BUT if u choose to so-call groom a FT and seemingly used up tax payers money to fund it, i totally do not understand the reason why.

my guess is, they bring in more FTs, give them the candy and they bring in more FTs, which i belive is working because she told her friends about this scheme and many of her friends are here now, at the expenses of home-grown sgporeans.

i myself was deprived the chance of studying in a local U.

but yet a villager from a faraway land with no visible society contributions gets the chance of studying here, all expenses PAID.

are we really worth this much to the gahment ? is it really we got not enough pple here to study in NTU ? then why are they rejecting sgporeans who meet the pre-requisites ?

WHY is it that I cannot have a free degree also??? The taxes we paid are used to pay for the degrees for overseas students lor... And apparently many people followed this forum and commented that it is true.

Anyway I am not a politically correct person lah so I also dunno what policy this is. Maybe PAP got a very good reason to do this, I dunno lah.

I only know that I either vote oppo or I void my vote.

Lastly, Show u all a very nice video done by someone in support of opposition. I am not asking people to be like me and vote opposition. In fact I haven't asked anyone to vote opposition.. except YH because she doesn't know who to vote.

I am just showing the video because it is very very well done. I don't think PAP has such a video. In fact I cannot find any pro PAP video done half as nicely as this.

Stay cool.. Breath... Breath deeply...

Phew....
