A park in Tehran

On the 13 Feb, I think it's 13 Feb, we were going to start having fun in Iran! Performance over, it's time to party!

Oh yes~

We were going to visit the museums in Iran. Before setting off, we wrapped our heads and Falzi came to borrow my ear muffs. He was telling me that his ears were cold and painful. Poor Falzi was sick that day. So I lent him my ear muffs.

He was telling me,"Oh, PINK ear muffs~! So cute!" Then he posed like in the above photo. So super funny sia and what is Bala doing behind??? -_-"

Taken in the coach. Crazy Falzi fooling around with my ear muffs! Oink Oink! These guys has been watching me rehearse the princess role many times so they always imitate me with the actions and speech. Look at Falzi's hand in the photo... diaoz..

They also like to imitate me saying,"Ya ho..." Which in chinese it is ,"ye hao.." I hope you know what I am talking about. So these guys, including naiba, keep on saying 'ya ho' to me in a high pitched voice.

All of us taking photo in the coach only Ang is uninterested in taking photos. I think she is in a super bad mood because we were being very disobedient. She wanted us to put on the green scarf but she did not tell us before hand that she wants us to do so. And from our understanding, we know that we don't need to put on uniforms for unofficial events. Today we are going visiting and partying so it's unofficial and so we heck care lah. If she wants anything to be done, please send notices in advance lor, for god's sake.

I think Ang was really very cold.....

A sequence of photos of we crazy people jumping around. I think I really got no 'xing xiang' there.. :P

Aiyoh.. Nai ba!!! what are you doing??? What a funny pose lor!

Bala looked like he was from Shanghai in the 1930s. Hahaha.. A steel horse outside the museum. We can 'sin kia ti beh....'

Hmm.. which piece should I buy? Which one is nicer ah?? A shop in the museum..

Antoher horse! This time it's a wooden one~

In the museum corridor, again, YH and Falzi action action.

Another piece of artwork. I am just trying to show you guys the arts of Iran. :D

Give me back the camera if you dunno how to take photos!

At the park behind the museum~ It was fun! There were lots of these workout equipments and we were having fun trying them out.

Kanglong and our very cool translator. I think our translator was pretty stylo. Wasn't he? He is only 23 years old!

A water drinking station at the park. According to our translator, the sign says 'Water of drinking'.
Naiba and translator~ Translator was still acting cool.

Aiyoh.. Kanglong! What are you doing with QY? You are tipping her over already! Hahaha..

Hahaha.. action action Falzi in action again.

Oh yes, we are all very cool people.

Again, we are cool people! Cool ok?!

Aiyoh.. what kind of photo is this? Everyone doing their own poses acting like they don't know each other...

What is this on the floor? Whitish... slime? cotton wool? No...

It's ice~!

QY decided to shovel the ice off the drains for the Iranian people. Awww.. QY is being very noble. All the way to Iran to shovel ice from the drains. Think the Iranian worker must be thinking that we are a bunch of siao tourists.

Looking at the photos, I realised that Iran does, to a certain extent, looks like Europe. The trees.. buildings.. etc... Naiba told me that these photos looked as if they were taken from some Australian or UK university.. Hahaha.. true lor.

Fun visit to the park and museum~ Next time I will blog about the streets and the local shopping of Iran~

Filming at NTU

On 02.03.08, we went for a filming at NTU. The students there were making a movie and a few of us were 'chosen' to be in this film. Haiz.. actually it is quite unlucky to be chosen because we must reach COI at 7.30am on a beautiful sunday to do filming at NTU.

The chosen ones were Bao hua, Zhu ying, Kanglong and me. Naiba was the chosen one at first but he LAST MINUTE and I mean really last minute, informed me that he can't make it. He asked me to help him look for someone else. He panicked so I am very nice lor, I asked some people but apparently, most of them didn't want to do it because it is tooooo early. Everyone wants to sleep on a sunday. In the end, Naiba got his good brother, Kanglong, to do it.

That day, Kanglong drove me to NTU and we reached there at about 8am. I was going to die of tiredness and so is Kanglong.

I had to do make up first because I was the first one to be filmed. Haiz.. so I did make up first which I think was quite ugly. The make up made my face looked very round.

My round face.

Zhu Ying and Bao Hua.

BTW, we were acting as soldiers for 'Mu Gui Ying'. CBX was acting as Mu gui ying.

Li was doing make up for Kanglong. Suddenly I heard Li speaking very loudly with his very 'dua bak' voice.

Li: Kanglong don't fall asleep!

hahaha... he fell asleep while doing make up... After awhile, I heard again.

Li: I am doing the black parts. Don't fall asleep! Yuying! Pull him at the shoulders!

Everyone is so dead to wake up so early lor. Haiz.. so finally, I did my parts first. I needed to wave this flag around and doing some movements. The flag is the small type and Li taught me 2 days prior to the filming of some movements.

Haha.. I was buttoning my blouse.. the button kept coming off.

I was waiting for them to adjust the camera and arrange the lightings etc. Hahaha.. this photo is very natural and very me lor.

I don't know how many times I re-do the movements for filming. At first I made some mistakes then they wanted to film me using different camera angles. I think I did the movements at least 10 times and they are making me very dizzy. The headgear also gave me headaches. I hate wearing those things. They are worse than wearing wigs.

I was having a bad headache and Kanglong was giving me a message. Fortunately, we were allowed to take off this thing while they were filming other parts. Which means, half of the time we took off that thing and was chatting at the side. Zhu Ying said that it is actually quite fun to do the filming cuz we were very relaxed.

In fact, we were so free that Zhuying started asking Kanglong how to get rid of flabby arms and so Kanglong 'zhi ye bing' again. He started telling them about diets, losing weights and doing what sort of exercises etc.

Kanglong demoing to them how to straighten legs. He commented that my knees were also slightly bending inwards so I have to do this too to straighten my legs. So cute right.. see the 3 of them got nothing else better to do lor.

I think Kanglong also quite busy. Ever since my troupe memebers know that he is a fitness instructor, they started asking him alot of funny questions. May also keep bugging me to ask him how to get rid of tummy etc.

Kanglong teaching ZhuYing how to do lunges. This is effective for losing weight but of course you must do it with the right positions.

Poor Li and CBX were not as free as us lor. They got lots of filming to do. Unlike us, we sit at the side talk kok and do workout. hahaha...

Group photo of us all.. hee hee.. it was a very long process but it turned out to be quite a fun thing to do. I can't wait to see the results of all these filmings.

Iran from the air

After staying for 8 hours at beautiful Doha, we setted off to the airport once again to fly to Tehran, the capital of Iran. Tehran is also a beautiful and I still have lots of fond memories of there.

As per what we thought it to be, Iran seems like a place of deserts and sands.

But we caught this amazing sight of snowy mountains~ These mountains were tall and they were all capped with snow.

Look at this one! It's so tall that it is poking into the clouds. Again, it is a snow capped mountain.

We arrived at Tehran after about 2 hours flight from Doha. We got stuck in the airport for awhile because the 3 non-singaporeans were stuck in there doing the visas. -_-"

And the Iranians were very pekcek with us at the customs because the custom officers took a bloody long time to check our passports. I think they are not used to having non-Iranians visitors ba. I mean who in the right mind will go Iran for tour? So we waited for a long time in the airport.. zzzzzz....

Finally.. we arrived at Tehran and this is what we saw when we exit from the main doors of the aiport.Snowy land!

Most of us who are seeing snow for the first time were very happy to see this the first thing we step onto Iran's ground. yay~ Snowy land! Beautiful yah? Who would expect to see snow in a place like Iran?

Beautiful Doha

This entry will be an eye opening experience for you guys if you haven't visit middle east before.
10.02.08 (1+am) - Yay.. we are setting off to Doha for transit.

Group photo but not everyone here is going Iran lah~ Hahaha.. Alot of them were family and friends here to send us off. Especially the 2 malay guys. They got many supporters sia!

Me: Hmm.. what should I order?

YH: Say Cheese~

hahahah what a stupid photo lor. It was taken inside Changi Airport.

10.02.08 - We arrived at Doha at about 7am Doha's time. It was a beautiful morning and Doha greeted us with a smile~ Doha is BEAUTIFUL!

Hello Doha!!

YH!!!! I want to kiss you!! But YH don't want to let me kiss her.

They are mad~ hahaha!! From left, Nizar, Nai ba, Jiang da and Kanglong.

Look at their number plate! Can you translate the numbers into their writing?

We waited for some time for the Movenpick coach to come pick us up to its hotel. Movenpick hotel was situated in somewhere like our CBD area. The buildings in their 'CBD area' were beatiful and glistening. They reflected onto the mirror like, crystal clear lake and the whole scene blown us away! We were like,"waaaaa....."

WELCOME TO DOHA!!!! Look at the beautiful lake! It reflected the modern buildings like a mirror~ The CBD area is still under construction because I can see that 70% of the buildings are still building. I think that after the construction is completed, the whole place will shine like a golden city~

The sunshine was warm and the weather was cool, the sea was crystal clear, the roads were clean and the people were nice!

Closer look on the CBD area under construction.

Beautiful Movenpick Hotel

I am here, can you see me????

YH taking photo of the hotel.

This is the lobby. Although this hotel is small. It is super luxurious. Apparently, the Doha people has got very high living standards.

The beds are super comfortable! It's those kind of bed that you will fall asleep in even though you are not tired. It is THAT comfy. The pillow is very puffy and soft that your head practically sinks into it. I love the bed! I want to buy that puffy pillow! Too bad I didn't sleep on the bed.. I only lied down for awhile because I spent alot of time exploring this hotel and Doha.

The kitchenette~ In every room, there is a little kitchen with this electronic stove and basin.

In every room, there is also a HDTV. Woot~ Even in SG hotel, alot are still using those normal CTV lor but this Doha hotel has got HDTV in all rooms~ Sooo cool.. That is Falzi posing with the TV.

After checking out the room, let's check out the other parts of the hotel like... the swimming pool! It's an indoor swimming pool on the 26th floor

Is this beautiful or what?? Hahaha, some people commented that this pool is prettier than even the Shangri-la hotel pool in SG.

Another view of the pool. Wish I got my swimming costumes sia~!

Lying by the pool. That is the Arabian Gulf outside the window. Nice view. Awww.. So lovely!

The view below, Arabian Gulf. Never do I ever ever imagine Doha to be so beautiful. To me, middle east is dusty and sandy like a desert.

Another view of the blue blue sea.

After visiting the swimming pool, me and YH decided to go for a dip in the Jacuzzi.

The jacuzzi was also on the 26th floor and it also faces the sea. The pic above was taken by someone else in the men's jacuzzi. I did took a photo in the lady's jacuzzi but i think this one is nicer. Anyway both the jacuzzis are the same.

This is life~ So comfy... This was taken before I dipped into the jacuzzi.
After the jacuzzi, we went to try out the steambath and the sauna also but we stayed less than 5 minutes in both of them because we cannot stand the heat. hahaha.. I never tried steambath before and the steam almost suffocated the both of us.

After the jacuzzi, sauna and steambath, we were feeling like princesses sitting on this golden couch.

After all that fun, drinking orange juice was pradise~

Having tea and cookie was paradise to YH too.

Like I said, the living standards in Doha is high.

YH: The cakes like not bad leh.
Me: Check out the price la.
YH: Ok.. hmm it's Qatar26.. divide by 3.64 to be USD and times 1.4 to be SGD.....$10 lor..
Me: SURE OR NOT? Where got so ex one?? Let me calculate.. *press press my hp* Wah lau, really is $10 lor. What the hell.

A slice of cake in Singapore's hotel is about $7 only..

Super ex. Lucky our drinks were complimentary.

We did go out of the hotel for a walk after our high tea but like I said, everything was under construction so I did not take many photos and anyway we didn't dare to wander too far. If Ang finds out. She will kill us.

But according to Nai ba and Li lao shi, they walked to the seaside and the water was very clean and cool. Aww... must be a very nice place to swim.

Beautiful Doha. An eye opener for me. Maybe you might want to visit Doha a few years later. I believe it will be even more beautiful.
