Chalet

Ok~ Went to May's birthday chalet yesterday. Quite a lot of people are there but I won't go into details. I reached Pasir Ris at 6.50pm. I told Richard that he must wait for me at Pasir Ris and drive me to the chalet if not I am not going. I will turn back and go home. He say ok ok... In the end, I still waited at Pasir Ris for about 30-40 minutes.....

At the chalet, the people have already started bbqing. Good, I can eat liao. Who knows once I stepped in, HXY tell me the mistakes I made in my song and taught me to sing on the spot. I didn't bring script BUT HXY BROUGHT SCRIPT!!! My god de.. How come she got bring script......

So we started practicing and she taught me some movements, holding the toothbrush as a fan.

Sentosa

On Friday, I went to Sentosa after work with my 2 ex-colleagues. We wanted to find the abadoned barracks in the middle of Sentosa but we didn't find it in the end as they were being demolished.. so sad.. I was looking forward to visit it. I visited it some years ago, after poly, with some crazy friends. I remember that at that time, one of my friend was driving so we can go around the whole of Sentosa easily and we found this abandoned barracks. This time however, we are not driving so we have to walk. After like 1 hour, my 2 friends were tired so we gave up and took a bus somewhere else.

We arrived at the visitor centre first then we took the Blue line to go to the Ranger Station. We alighted the bus and started walking upwards to find the Allanbrooke Road. Suddenly, We heard a 'ahh..', mp and me turned around and saw that mel was trying to pick up something from the floor. What is it? I thought must be some snail or worm.

We went towards her and saw that she was holding a bat in her hand. Hmmm.. She said she accidentally stepped on the bat without realising. She told us that she was walking and suddenly she felt a vibrate under her foot. Looking down, she realised that she stepped on a bat! Poor bat. I think it is already injured when it is lying on the floor. Yet still kana stepped by Mel.

She decided to hold the bat all the way when we trek around Sentosa...

Then we continue walking and walking and saw this dunno what camp. Like very ulu and lousy. Mel as k if that is the abandoned barracks. I said that obviously there are many people inside and it is not abandoned.

There was a dead end so we U-turned and saw that there was a shortcut down the slope, so we decided to take the shortcut. It was very dark but luckily MP suddenly fish out a torch. I dunno how come she got a torch. So we continued walking in the dark, across a field and arrive at an open air stage. I took a photo of it but there isn't any orbs on the photo. Oh yah, I was looking for orbs that whole night.

Suddenly Mel exclaim again!

'Pineapple Tree!!!!'

Pineappel tree? pineapples dont grow on trees sia... I turned and saw that it is NOT a pineapple tree. It is just a big tree with leaves that grow the same way as the pineapple. Me and MP laughed.

Mel," tot I saw the biggest pineapple tree on earth."

Hahaha...

Then we arrived at another chalet and seaside. We walked along the road, mel still patting the bat. I wanted to go toilet so me and MP went in but I think Mel got some problem going toilet with an injured bat in her hand.

We found another road that I think will lead us to the barracks so we went up. We saw that there was a hotel at the end of the very very dark road which is supposed to lead to a carpark. The hotel is very dark but I think there are some tourists living inside.

Then I took a photo of MP walking. There are actually 2 orbs following her.. :P If you can click on the pic, you click on it to see the bigger version. Cuz u can't see anything when the pic is so small.

Then we walked again and Mel wanted to take a photo too to see if there are any orbs around her.Actually there was one orb. Mel, if you want to see this photo, you can tell me, I will mail you.

Walking again on the road, I spotted a murder. MP called it a murder case. It was certainly bloody and scary.. eeeks.. And MP took a more detailed look to investigate into this mysterious murder crime.

MP is investigating it.. After some discussion, we conclude that the snake was being crushed by some vehicle. Thank you.

Mel said that it is a python.......

AFter that, they were too tired to continue walking so we took a bus to Sunset bay. Mel said there is a pub there.

Then I started taking random photos around the beach and in the pub. I realised that orbs are often by the sea at Sentosa too.

Tomb Sweeping

Tomb sweeping day is like a family reunion to me. This year as usual, we are supposed to meet up at my grandma's tomb at 6am. I woke up at 5am... Tired sia. There was a slight traffic jam when we were approaching Lim Chu Kang.

My other relatives already reached there and once we arrived, my parents started cleaning the tomb. All the uncles and aunties started preparing and all the cousins sat at one side, as usual.

After cleaning up, the first round of burning began..... right in front of the tomb.

Somebody set a big fire on the jin zhi and then shouted... 'huat ah!!'

The sky is getting brighter. It is 6.49am. You see it is very crowded at the cemetery.

After everyone finished praying, we start to burn all the stuff... Burn ah!!! Burn!!!

Then we visited another tomb, my great grandmother or grandfather. I don't know. I didnt take the above pic cuz I dont want to go into the bushes and feed mosquitoes.. :P my aunt took it for me....

Mirage

Light refraction is a beautiful thing. It brings us lots of beautiful images and one of them is a mirage.

We might have heard of a mirage before but what is it actually and how does it look like? I have heard of it before and imagine that a mirage must be an amazing sight. Today, nothing to do, I did some research on Mirages.

Inverted Mirage of a boat

Most people's impression of mirages comes from comic books, for instance the elusive and distant mirage of an oasis which tends to appear to Donald Duck during adventures in the desert. People consequently tend to conclude that the mirage is a phenomenon produced by the delusions of a person who is exhausted by heat and thirst, a hallucination which exists only in the imagination of that person, rather than something which can be documented in, for instance, photographs.

On the other hand, most people are familiar with the shimmering pools of water that can often been seen on hot pavements on summer days. These apparent pools are not given any mystical connotations, however, even if they are in fact the same phenomenon as the mirage of an oasis in the desert: the sky and its blue colour appear to be reflected above a hot surface, producing an illusion of water, which constantly recedes out of reach before the approaching traveller.

The pool of water you see on the road is NOT a pool of water. It is just a mirage and when you approach it, the 'pool of water' will disappear.

There are 2 kinds of mirage. One is the inferior mirage which is like the photo shown above and the second is superior mirage. The superior mirage will have the mirage projected above the actual object instead of below it.

When we view an inferior-mirage "water pool" on a road or desert or other hot surface, what we are actually seeing is the image of the bluish sky being strongly refracted by the hot air near the surface so that it appears to our mind to be water lying on the surface. The appearance of the inferior mirage always indicates that the surface air is much warmer than the air above it due to the strong heating of the surface by the sun or some other heat source. This temperature structure -- very hot below and cool above -- causes light rays passing through it to be bent upward.

The superior mirage occurs under reverse atmospheric conditions from the inferior mirage. For it to be seen, the air close to the surface must be much colder than the air above it. This condition is common over snow, ice and cold water surfaces. When very cold air lies below warm air, light rays are bent downward toward the surface, thus tricking our eyes into thinking an object is located higher or is taller in appearance than it actually is.

You can see a white light house but the white lighthouse is not there actually. It is an inferior mirage.

Images of Superior Mirage. Superior Mirage is more rare as there are alot of specific conditions required. A slight difference of height or angle will result in not seeing the mirage at all.

You see the small white house at the horizon? It is not a real house, just a mirage. There is no land there at all.

My mother want to sleep

My mother is quite an early sleeper. Actually not early la, just that earlier than us. Just now, she went to sleep at around 12:30am. Then me, my father and brother stayed in the living room to watch TV.

At around 1am, my father went up to sleep also. So left me and my bro watching La bi xiao xin.

Suddenly, I heard a scream.

AIYOOOOOOOOH!!!

Then silence...

I shouted," What's up???"

Silence... Then suddenly,

AIYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!

huh?? hmmmm.....

Silence again for 5 minutes then suddenly..

SHUT UP LAH!!!!!!

I decided to go up to see what is happening.

I opened the door and saw my mum struggling and shouting,"You very noisy leh! I want to sleep la!"

My father," I sing 'shan ge' for you mah!"

My mum,"No need! I want to sleep!"

Me,"Sing leh, I want to listen."

My father," I will sing later."

So I went down to watch tv again.. Then suddenly...

YOU VERY NOISY YOU KNOW OR NOT?

I went up again... I slowly open the door and I heard my father singing.... and saw my mum struggling witht the bolster...

Hahaha.. Then I heard my father slapping his own stomach like a drum and sing along...

My mum....

AIYYYEEEEEHHHHHH ! SHut up la!

Medical check up

Today, I went for medical check up at 2:30pm. I was supposed to go to Raffles Medical Grp clinic at Harbourfront. I looked around but I couldn'r find the clinic. I started walking very fast because I was going to be late. Up and down, up and down... Finally found it in a corner. It is a very small clinic.

The doctor took my bloog pressure and listened to my hearbeat. He said," Relax, don't be too nervous."

I said," I am not nervous."

Doctor,"Why then is your hearbeat so fast."

I said,"Cuz I can't find your clinic and I was running about."

Then he asked me to go out and wait. I spent all the waiting time reading 'Alice in the Wonderland'.

Finally, the nurse called me and took my height, weight, tested my eyesight, ask me to give her some urine sample.

Suddenly, an idea struck me. What if they test my urine and it produce a report that: This person is an opera fanatic. Spends all her time on opera and nothing else.

hee hee..

I thought that was all for the check up but no. She gave me a letter, ask me to go to Raffles Medical Hospital to take X-ray. I was like... Huh... Still must go to Bugis there to take Xray, so troublesome. Haiz.. but I might get it done once and for all.

So I went there to take Xray and after that, I went Bugis for shopping! yeah!!

After that, went to see HXY's ktv class. See how she teach and how the students are doing. The ktv students are not the GZX students. They are some other aunties who only want to learn singing.

Just saw on tv, 60% of marriaged couples divorce within 10 years.... Ooohh.. scary.

Today, I arrived home at 11+pm. I asked my father...

Me: Is Lao ma back?

Father: No, She at Gu Cai Ba.

Me: Don't bluff. I know she sleeping upstairs.

Me: Is that fish back?

Father: No, he went swimming.

Me: Don't bluff. Say properly.

Father: Why you so concern? You got motive one.

Me: I not like that one lor.

Father: Dun k k. I know you so well.

Me: I just ask for fun.

Father: You want to ask that fish to serve you water and cook for you right.

Me: No lor......

Found!

Ok, I finally found a job. This time, I took my own sweet time to get a job as I do not want to get just any job. At the same time, I can take a good long break. My break will be over in one week. I will be starting work on April.

The location is at Harbourfront. At first I thought that it is very far but then the NorthEast line took about 30 minutes to reach there. However, including all the walking and waiting, I think the trip will take me about 45-50 minutes. Haiz, hate travelling.

Forget it, it is a 5 days job! What more can I ask?

The company is Bureau Veritas. I still don't know what they are dealing with actually. I read in their website that they check shippings and got some consultation service etc. Hmm.. don't know. The headquarter is in France. What a coincident... :P

Hopefully all will go well for this job~
