JunHua's Wedding

I have come to a stage whereby my friends are getting married at an amazing speed! Thank god I dun have a lot of frens and so my damage wasn't so huge.

Jun hua's wedding was a lunch, not dinner, at Marina Mandarin. I was there quite early and saw that another buddy of mine, Henry, was there as a brother~

Henry the one on the most left, the very thin one. He was my buddy in poly and he knows basically everything about me. That is before he left me and went KK. He was always there when I was sad, happy, angry... When he left, he handed me over to Lock and asked Lock to look after me. So then it became Locky who was always there for me. Ahhh, I am grateful to have these buddies!!!!

As Junhua knows his wife from the school they teaching in, they gave highlighters as a door gift. Quite cute and useful too!

Jun hua and bride..

This dessert is nice! NEver had something like this before in wedding dinner. It was a mango sago with ice cream! Yum! I love ice cream!!

Then as usual, people started asking me when is my turn etc.. I told them my turn will never come! Or maybe it will but when I am 40 years old ok. I still got so many things waiting for me to do. I can't afford to get tied down. Thank goodness another friend, Entaro was with me and he is another one who wants to enjoy single freedom. LOL. So I wasn't the only one around.

After the lunch ended, it was only like 4pm? I still got time to go Marina Square walk walk leh... Later on in the evening, I met Susan they all at Esplanade to watch Nick's play. :) But I hate to wear heels all day!! Dang. Can't change out of them too cuz then I will look weird wearing this dress with flats!

Shopping

Why girls like shopping:

Some time ago I was out shopping with Ponyo. She told me that she can't buy anymore things because she has too many things at home. I agreed with her because that is what I felt about my room too.

Then she told me for example, she has this Juicy Couture bag, which she bought at a sale, has not been used yet. I told her to just get it out and use it lor since she already bought it. She has kept it in her cupboard for a few months le. So she told me,"But I also bought a long wallet from Juicy..."

Me: Then?

Ponyo: The long wallet cannot fit in the juicy bag cuz it's too small.

Me: Then like that you forever no need to use that bag le lor.

Ponyo: Yah so I cannot buy small bags now, all cannot use.

Me: Very easy mah, buy another juicy wallet, a small one, to match your small bag then you can use that bag le lor....

The simple answer to the simple problem.

And so after buying a long wallet, a big bag and a small bag from juicy, she is going to buy another small wallet so that it can match the small bag.

This is why girls like shopping, we are always short of something.... LOL

Of course this doesn't apply to all girls but maybe 90% are like this..

By the way, those of you whom never seen Juicy bags before, they are really lovely!!! I love this brand but I cannot afford so I never bought it. I bought chiong one but spoil liao.

So cute right their designs, too bad I can't afford. Though not as ex as LV but still a bag that is more than $300 is not in my budget... In fact, I have not bought any bags that is over $40 before...

Watching Opera

As we are going to act Ong Bo Chuan in near future, Ang suggested that we go watch the Teochew version of Ong Bo Chuan.

If Teacher open her mouth, all must go unles you got valid excuse. So we all went and knowing that most of the students will be bored, we all 不约而同 brought tidbits and drinks to the venue.

MD brought nuts and a few can drinks. May Teng brought crackers and biscuits (actually is for ah gu one). LZ bought tidbits on the spot. I think my mum brought something too but I forgot. YH brought sweets as usual.



While teacher is sitting in front at the VIP seats, we were partying at the back rows. We didn't get good seats and couldn't really see clearly so most of the time we were chatting and eating and drinking. I think teacher must be really sad cuz the show wasn't very interesting and she couldn't come join us in the party.

In the end towards the end of the show, she came and sit with us. LOL... Our party is too hard to resist liao...

I think where ever we all go, it will be like a party because some people will always bring something over to picnic.

Ah Gu

I really how the undersized midget daughter of hers can scratch her to this extend. I mean she is so little, just grab her hands and tell her to stop it will do right? At most she will wail and scream but it's better than letting her do whatever she wants.

Her daughter aka Ah gu is really a handful lor. Super duper mega naughty and attitude. I think I will ki siao if I have a daughter like that. I will probably tie her hands together so she wont try anything funny.

Anyway kids are not my thing. I am never good with kids. I prefer to play with adults. LOL...

Shopping With Ponyo

I have been so busy recently! With events going on pre-birthday and post-birthday. I simply have no time to do other things. I have calls coming in as late as 1:30am! And only one person will call me at this time. No need me to say. Can guess who is it.

Yesterday went shopping with Ponyo. Been wanting to meet her but I was so bloody busy. So we finally met up yesterday as a post birthday .... not party.. but shopping walk walk day. She just came back from quan zhou and she asked me how was Mingde's singing when I asked about her singing class. LOL..

Last year on my birthday, she gave me a G-string which until now I didn't wear. I told her not to give me something so ridiculous that I won't use. LOL. This year she said she have only one thing in mind when trying to buy my bday gift in Quanzhou. That is pink. Hahahaha....

So she gave me a pink dress:

She told me that her husband gave her and ipad. She said when she saw that susan's husband gave her a ipad, she was envious and was thinking why she didn't recieve one. But when she recieved one, she said she wasn't very happy. I think for awhile and asked,"Maybe cuz he was using your money to buy?"

She laughed.

Then we went to find a ipad bag for her. She saw this ipad bag she likes very much from Kipling. It was $129! She likes it so much but finds the price to expensive. She kped that why the bag so expensive, why it's not on sale. Oh well... so we went around the shopping center to hunt for another one and we ended back at kipling. The second time in kipling she didn't buy the bag too and asked the shop owner what time they are closing. 9.30pm.

So we walked off again. But after visiting several other shops, including those Apple shop, she cannot stop thinking about buying that $129 bag. In the end she asked me to play scissors paper stone with her. We did this before and the previous time I won, she ended up didn't buy that thing she wanted (forgot what thing that was). So this time, I won again! LOL. And she was like,"Aiyo~~~~~"

She complained that most of the items in kipling is on sale but this item is not on sale. I told her to wait la. Maybe one month later it will be on sale???

I told her, if you really want it so much then u buy lor or call ur husband and ask his opinion. In the end her husband tell her to buy but he didn't ask the price. I told Ponyo later her husband will regret after she bring the thing home. Already spent like a few hundreds on the ipad then spend another 100+ on the bag lor. Maybe her husband will regret buying the ipad for her.

In the end, we 三顾茅庐. Third time in the shop, she bought the bag.

Haiz. 折腾so long she eventually still bought it. She blamed me for asking her out and making her spend so much. lol. Like I can control her spending like that.

Later on, I told her I want to go to uniqlo to see if a particular t-shirt is on sale. I told her the t-shirt normal price was $19.90 and I am waiting for sale. She was like.. -_-" Not even $20 also want to wait for sale.

Hahahaha, compared to her $129 bag, my t-shirt is nothing but still I wanted to wait for sale mah. she said that I was very 欠扁. And that my way of waiting for everything to be on sale is very exaggerating.

Well.. in the end my wait paid off! The t-shirt was selling at $7.90!!! hahaha. So I faster called May to ask if she wants to buy but she refused to pick up my call. This May Teng is so damn mah fan lor. Keep pestering me to look out for sale of that t-shirt but call her she dun wanna pick up. She more qian bian than me!

So I heck cared her, I bought 2 t-shirts for myself.

Later she called me back and I am not exagerating to say that she was devasted to know that she missed the t-shirt sale. She said she gonna ask her sis to buy. So managed to buy it or not????

This shopping day. Ponyo total spending on shopping was about $210 (she puts the blame on me for having to celebrate my bday and thus she spent so much). My total was about $23. So you see, I am also very jing da xi suan one.

Saving money tip 1: Always buy from sale. Nothing but sale. 90% of my things were bought from sale. Even when I was in China, I only buy from sales. Hahahaha....

Ah Gu

Finally, the cow baby has arrived into this cruel and heartless world. Yes, her name is Ah Gu (Cow) because she is borned in the year of cow. Thus I nicknamed her Ah Gu aka Xiao Niu. LOL. The mother thinks that the nickname is awful but ... its ok I think because the baby's father is a 忘恩负义 man. Hopefully his daughter will not turn out to be as 忘恩负义 as her father.

Talk about the father makes me very angry so I think I dont talk about him better. Grrr.r.r..

F**K YOU! YOU UNGRATEFUL INGRATE!

Ok. phew, that was good. LOL...

May Teng, after giving birth feels that she is too ugly to appear on my blog. I allowed her to cover her face like this.

The baby that is not even 1 day old yet! She is Ah Gu. Everyone says that she looks like a boy. Well, she is destined to do xiao sheng which her mother did not manage to do.

May Teng said that Ah Gu looks like her father, that ungrateful man. Too bad then. Her father is an ungrateful man. Cannot make it one...

May decided to call her daughter Maybelline. Yes de, that cosmetic brand. I think the name is dumb la. Next time in school her friends will give her nicknames like Loreal or ZA. May likes the name Maybelline cuz the shortform will be May, which is same name as her. Abit lame lor the reason.

Now, the ungrateful man is in Singapore so we cannot go see May and her ungrateful baby yet but I will blog more when I visit her again.

Hong Kong

I have to speed up my blogging le because apparently, someone lodged a complain that I have not been updating quick enough given that I am now jobless, I should have more time. She is so wrong because I am so damn busy even if I am jobless, so many things to settle.

I shall continue my blog on my HK trip. I took a ferry from Macau and in the ferry terminal, we saw this shop.

My mum said that this is a 兔崽店！It was so funny lor. Tu zai and mian shui has 10 thousands miles between them. It is the joke of the year man.

Then we boarded the ferry for HK which will take about 1 hour like that.

I found something really fascinating. That is, the water of Macau is actually yellow in colour!

I know that singapore's sea is very dirty and it's a murky green colour but nothing beats this murky yellow colour! It's really strange, they must have dumped tons of mud into the sea to create this borderless yellow dirty sea....

Arriving at the HK ferry terminal, we took a cab to our hostel. Yes de, it's a hostel but I like it very much. It's very clean and neat though it's very small. The toilet is super super small that I think a fat man will not be able to go in. But this kind of room fits me and my mum well because we dun mind the small space as long as theres aircon and bed for us to sleep in.

I chose this hostel because the location is super good. It's just beside the ladies market at Mongkok and we are about 10 minutes walk away from the 2 mrt stations line. Very good right? We practically went everywhere by Mrt, no need to take cab.

We had our first meal in HK and my mum thought that goose meat is nice, my father told her, so she ordered. Turned out that goose meat is super fatty.

After the lunch, we took MRT to Hong Kan to buy our train tickets for Guangzhou. I must settle the train tickets before having fun if not I will feel stress that I cannot get tickets last minute. So we got to Hong Kan and bought 2 tickets for Guangzhou at HKD190.

I found this thing in Macau and HK's traffic lights. I wonder what this is because you can't press it for the lights. Anyone knows?

A little tip for you guys, at hong kan MRT station, there is this luggage locker. So you can actually lock your luggage here if you plan to visit HK for only one day, or if you check out early and nowhere to lock your luggage.

After visiting this Avenue of Stars, we went to some night markets but I really find the ladies market very boring leh. The things they sell are all the same and very common and they are all over priced. I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit ladies market at all. But I will recommend you guys to shop at the shopping malls around Mongkok because they sell some really nice and cheap stuff! I saw some balloon shorts which May likes a lot at only HKD29! But I didn't buy for her cuz I tot she got alot liao...

Also around that area, there are 2 xu liu shan dessert shops. You know they specialise in mango dessert right? Very nice! You all should go.

The next day, we went to Hongkong Disneyland~ It was super fun! I will blog in another entry!

Macau

We arrived at Macau. This is lao ma with her face mask, pulling our luggage towards our hotel. Our hotel is just beside this popular district for shopping and food ad it's the cheapest hotel in Macau. However, I don't reccommend anyone to this hotel because it really sucks. The receptionist behaved like I owe her one million dollars and the hotel room is very old. Too bad, we are on a budget trip and the hotels in Macau are VERY expensive. Even this cheapest one is the most expensive hotel among the 3 hotels that I will be staying in.


Though hotel is lousy, there is air-con INSIDE the lift! LOL, I dunno why the hell someone will install air con inside the lift. It's the first time I see something like this I found it hilarious!



Xiao mung wearing face mask and accompanying us to the dessert shop to eat this milk pudding. I love milk pudding!!! I ate it everyday especially when I was in Guang zhou. The milk pudding there was very cheap, only SGD$1 per bowl. The milk pudding in Singapore and Macau cost about $3. This is a must eat item if you go Macau.



But be careful if you go into the restaurants or cafes in Macau because if you don't order anything and just sit there, you got to pay HK$5 too. So don't be stupid and sit there. Order something.


This building you see here is very informative for tourists. The staff are friendly and they can guide you with whatever you need. I asked for directions and ways to get to HK here. They have also got various maps of Macau you can request for.

Nice Portugal style buildings. The Mc there is very pretty I think. At night, my mum and I sat in Mc and watch the people on the streets. Lao ma like to comment on people like what they are wearing and what kind of umbrella they are carrying.

I tried the pork bun in Macau and I think its quite nice. The bread is a bit hard and it will be even nicer if it's soft. The pork is very tender but my mum did not eat it. She is scared of the pork because it doesn't looke like pork to her.. Hmmm...

Finally we found it! We always see this on TV so I told my mum that I must visit this place. It used to be one whole church but miraculously, the church was destroyed leaving the front wall intact.


Things to look out for when you go to St Paul's.

First, be careful of these glass floorings when it's raining. I almost slipped and fell! The glass is very slippery with all the rain. See Xiao Mung demo for you.


Secondly, for girls wearing skirts, it is not advisable for you to climb up to the ruins as the floorings are actually grills. Anyone who lift up their heads below the grills can see everything. It's kind of brainless to use such floorings. Why not use solid materials instead of this see through grills.



Inside the church there is also an underground burial place. I visited that place and it displayed some human bones. I wanted to take photos but my mum think it's not such a good idea to take photos of bones.



My mum thinks that the flowers are more pretty than the church.

When you are in Macau, you gotta visit their famous casinos. I went in and apparently, it was not at all interesting to me. The people there just concentrate on playing the games and cursing when they lost. The dealers are interesting to watch though. They are like robots, performing actions in a robotic way.

I couldn't stand the cigarettes smell so I didn't stay long in the casinos. Just visit a few of them.


This pawn shop has a funny name. Cai Shen Ye Ya. Weird right??? I thought it was funny so I gotta take this photo and show you.

Exit is SAIDA in portugese language.

It is said that this kind of black tiles patterns is a very portugese style. I have never been to portugal so I don't know if that's true. It's nice though.

A tip for you. The Venetian mall is actually on another island. I wanted to go there but we got a boat to catch so no choice, we decided to carry our luggage all the way to the Venetian. Then we realised that there is actually a free baggage service in this mall where you can leave your baggage. That was a great relieve because I must visit the Venetian but I don't want to pull the luggage bag around.

There are performers walking all around the Venetian singing and dancing. You can talk to them and take photos. Most of them are caucasians. I saw one riding on a this one wheel bike thing, I don't know what that's called, and I saw another 2 walking on stilts. Didn't manage to take their photos. They walked too fast.

My mum was not concentrating when taking this photo. She was looking at a TV that was showing some kind of advertisement.

Then we decided to go to the Venetian Casino to see how grand it is. We we wearing our masks and the security guard stopped me from entering. He asked me to remove my mask. I did. Then he asked me how old I am. I told him I am 27. He was surprised, he thought I was underage.

LOL. I told him,"Thanks but I also wish I am 17. Haha."

Then he told us that his daughter is also 27 years old.

After visiting the casino, which is the same as all the other casinos, we collected our baggage. I found out they actually have this free shuttle service from Venetian to the Ferry Terminal. Yea.. No need to take cab because the cabs there are quite ex. So happily, we took the free shuttle bus to the Ferry Terminal and I bought 2 tickets for us to go to Kowloon, Hongkong.

So exciting right. My mum first time go free and easy like this and she was at first kind of worried. No worries~ We can take our own sweet time.
