Flying off again

I am going to Jakarta (again) this coming Thursday. I have been going to Indonesia quite often for performance recently, maybe we have yuan fen. This time round, the title of this performance is 'Best of ASEAN Performing Arts' and the ASEAN secretarist as well as ministers will be there. So my troupe leader is kind of nervous.

She told us, can only succeed, cannot fail.

Actually we everytime perform also cannot fail one mah.

Anyway, we are going to set off this Thursday at freaking 750am. Yes, that means I have have to be in the airport at 530am. I am going to sleep on the plane but too bad it's not going to be a long flight.

This time our sponsor is very generous. They booked Singapore Airlines tickets for us. Each ticket cost about $400+ which is considered quite ex for such a short flight.

Yay, I will be bring my mung mung there. I think mung mung will be happy to go overseas again. :)

KTV Queen

KTV is one of the most popular thing to do in Singapore.

One fine evening, the Ponyo team and tiam soh were at the food centre opposit Harbourfront eating cheap and good food when suddenly we talked about KTV. Yayi's character is 事不宜迟, immediately go after eating. We booked a room and all the way chiong down to dohby ghaut. Lol, want to do means do it right away!

So the trio arrived at DG at around 8.30pm. We started singing and Yayi is a powerfuly singer. She kept singing all the very high pitched songs like 'xin bu liao qing' etc for the whole 3 hours. She made me sing along with her and I almost died out of breath after like 3 songs. Trained vocalist is indeed different. She doesn't feel tired at all and continue wailing away..

Tiam soh on the other hand is a conservative singer. She is Biyu jie's mummy by the way. She sang the older and slower songs. LOL, it's like an interval after some crazy pop songs we sing. We sing 4 pop songs then she sing 1 oldies. Intermission for us to rest.

The part went high awhile later on and we started jumping around and dancing. Tiam soh also joined us in the dancing hoping to shake off all her tummy fats. Hahaha. It was so funny. I jump and dance until I so out of breath. Yayi continued to sing her high pitched songs and asked me to sing along. I told her I dun wanna sing because I know my voice will 'break', the song is too high for me. She said that's ok,'just treat it as it's me who break voice. Hahaha..'

At 11pm, we completed our KTV singing session walked all the way to the MRT... Thus ending a crazy night....

Ponyo 2 人组

Recently, I have been going out with my nanyin teacher Miss Cai Ya Yi. She is 2 years older than me and I oftern refer to her as Miss Chua in my blog.

We tried to refresh our memories on how we became good friends because initially I didn't really talk to her when she came over to help us perform. Then it came back to us of the time when I first went to her class, Biyu jie told me that Yayi teacher like to watch movies too and we can go together. She then later told Yayi the same thing. Lol, the first movie we watched together was Ponyo on the cliff by the sea. After that we 一气呵成 (as described by yayi).

Since that day we watched Ponyo, she started to call me Ponyo and I will sometimes call her ponyo too. She told the other members that we are Ponyo 2 人组. Hahaha. Mad.

She told me that if I wanna blog about the adventures of Ponyo 2 人组 then I must start from the day that we watched Ponyo. Lol, that was so long ago but I did what I was told, I started from the Ponyo movie.

After that, we watched the movie DMC. She love the movie so much that we now keep imitating the actions that Lord Krausser did and the way he speaks. Yayi also became a fan of that actor and I suggest her to watch Deathnote. She loved it too and sometimes she will imitate L.

Crazy girl, she go and cut her hair after watching DMC... cut into 'mushroom head'! I can't

believe it. I will never cut my hair like that... LOL

So now, we will plan what to do on the weekends because we are both so bored and looking for new exciting stuff to do. So one day, we decided to go to Macritchie reservoir for a walk. That day was qing ming festival and Yayi suddenly recited the poem:

清明时节雨纷纷
路上行人欲断魂
借问酒家何处有
牧童遥指杏花村

At this moment, we saw a wooden sign post pointing to us the start of the trial in Macritchie so I told her the poem should end as...

木头遥指迈里芝

LOL~ Hahahaha This line now became a classic.

We took a super long walk in macritchie, covering 3 trails in order to reach the HSBC treetop trail. I think we walked about 6km to get there. Yayi almost died before reaching treetop trials. She was so tired and we were also rather unlucky as it was drizzling slightly that day.

The longer trail of 3.7km was full of pebbles. We trek all the way up and down to reach our final destination before 5pm.


Yay~ Finally we reach the treetop trail! The scenery up there was very nice, we can see very far away some HDB flats.



When we got off the hanging bridge, we came by this long flight of stairs. Yayi almost broke down, look at her expression! We were so damn tired by now but we persisted on to climb up that flight of stairs. In fact, we have no choice, lol, this is the only way out.

Tired of the stairs, we sat down to take photos. You realise I didn't take photos of myself. Ya, cuz that day I was sweaty and dead looking so I didn't want to take photos. Only Yayi took cuz she wants to let her husband see her adventures.

Hee hee... we were fascinated with this big leaf! I said it was bigger than my butt!

When we finally got out of the reservoir.. (after more than 10km of walking) we were so dead and we couldn't find the way out. The only way to go out is to walk along the singapore club road till we reach Thomson road but yayi could not walk any further so we called a cab. At first we didn't know where we were. There were no road signs or any landmarks. Heng, I got GPS, so I used my handphone to find out we are at singapore club road.

Abit stupid right, lol but ya, we called a cab to take us to plaza sing where we can have some good food. Then later on, Yayi husband came to meet us.

The adventure doesn't end here. Yayi husband wanted to buy the electronic drumset from Yamaha but the person told him it's out of stock and ask him to buy a more expensiveone. It's $2500 for crying out loud! Yayi didn't really like the idea of buying the more expensive set so we loitered there till the shop close, lol... Finally they decided to visit the other yamahas the next day to get the drum set. Heng for them because they got a cheaper set at the other shops and I mean really alot cheaper.

So now, yayi husband is even busier playing with his drumset liao...

Go To DMC!

I just watched the jap show 'Detroit Metal City'. It was a very nice show!!!! I kept thinking of the funny scenes and they made me smile. :)

The story is about this guy from the country side whose dream is to become a singer who sings sweet love songs. With his dream, he went to Tokyo and ended up in a death metal rock band! He thought that the songs he sang in the band was disgusting but he was very popular and the band cannot survive without him. So he has like a double side of him.

I think the guy, the main lead, acted very well. He looked very cool as Lord Krausser (DMC).

Him as the death rock singer in the troupe called Detroit Metal City.

And he fell in love with this girl who (didn't know he is in the band) told him that she thought the band was horrid.

And he went home..

I think this guy is very suitable to dress up as a death metal singer. His face brings up the make up very well.

Go see this movie! I told Ponyo (miss chua) and she loved this movie so much that she cut her hair like the guy! Now she got a nickname call mushroom head. lol..

My Expense

I just went to print my bank book to keep track of my spending and to my utmost surprise, I only spent $400 last month!

I think it has been a long time since something like this happened. This $400 is my total spending, including my eating, drinking, travel, play and bills.

I don't know how I did it but it's good la. Hahaha... Last month saved a lot of money. Hopefully I will save a lot this month too. All the money will go into my 'Travel around the world Funds'.

Woo hoo~ Who wanna go greenland with me???

I have never applied for credit cards in my life because I don't see the need to. Everything the credit card can do, can be done by the debit card and moreover, I don't really like to pay bills. I always forget my bills so there is a risk of incurring interest.

However, recently, I realise one thing about credit cards... They got lots of discounts! Hahaha... erm, but so many cards dunno which card got what discount. Most importantly, I want to have movies and ktv discounts cuz I watch alot of movies and sing alot of Ks!

Anyone of you have any idea which card has got the most discounts on movies and ktvs?

Earth Hour

Do you know Earth Hour? It was on last saturday, 28 Mar, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. I don't know if this is the first time Singapore took part in Earth Hour but this is the first time I took part in it!

This Earth Hour actually started from Australia. It is to raise awareness for global warming and how we can help by switching off unnecessary electricity devices.

It was a pity that during this 1 hour, I was at SL having a meeting. However, I did tell everyone that it's Earth Hour day and we should try to off some of the lights off to show support. Though we can't off all the lights (we were having meeting!) but at least we off a large part of SL's light off. At least something.

It was a pity that I was in SL else I will go Esplanade and see the CBD buildings off their lights for that hour. It must be quite fun to see those BIG lights switching off. Hmmm... Ah well, at least I got this clip to show you guys. It's a worldwide roll out of the most famous landmarks switching off their lights at 8.30pm.

Murder of the Bear

This cruel murder case happened in Feb but I didn't blog about it until now. Finally, I am going blog about this gruesome murder of the bear.

It was a cool night at Pasir Ris and I was with my friends. They brought out a cute bear, holding a key.....

Oooh.. wat a cute bear! Holding a key somemore. Little did he know that a great misfortune is going to fall on him....

Arrggghhh.. A knife a the back of my head!!!! I don't wanna die!

The ruthless murderer did not stop just here. They continued and hacked the bear's head into half!

Oh my god... Can you believe this?

Scraping the bloody brains and veins inside the head.

Eventually, the whole head was gone, leaving behind a bloody mess. The head was then hacked into pieces and distributed to the people there.

Funeral

On Sunday and Monday, I sent my eldest uncle off for his last journey. He is only 59 years old and my father's eldest brother. Unfortunately, he has got brain tumour and the operation didn't save him. He passed away last Friday. I was unable to go on Saturday cuz I have got performance so I went to the wake on Sunday.


We thought that there were alot of things for us to do and we arrive there at about 10+am on Sunday but turned out that it was an false alarm. My very kan cheong Aunt told us there were lots of things to do but we finished everything in an hour. In the end, we all went home to sleep first and come back in the evening.

At about 5pm, we went back to the funeral to be in time for the prayers. The monks came at about 6.30pm and we all did the prayers. After that, it was chit chatting time. My brother was very bored so i told him to count the wreaths. There were really a lot of wreaths there!

My brother counted a total of 76 wreaths! Later on, my cousins they all used those flowers from the wreaths to decorate the coffin. They covered the whole coffin with flowers.

My cousins, aunt and uncle. they are chit chatting and apparentlty one of my cousins was very tired....

My cousin and her mum, we call her Aunty Amy. Aunty Amy is a very funny person lor. She likes to tell us about her funny stories.

At about 10+, Huang Shi Nan came to the funeral too. He sat with my uncle and father and started talking business with them. He is always giving new ideas on how to decorate the products.

Their table.. and my mum was as usual, either complaining or gossiping. My brother is that skinny one sitting at the background. I think he likes to sit beside Huang shi nan. Lol....

Then I made fun or him and said," You pretend to sit there, you want to take photo with Uncle Shi Nan issit."

Then Huang shi nan laughed and said that,"I want to take photo with your brother leh... (turn to me bro) I want to take photo with you can?"

It was very funny lor.

Look at my brother, dunno is paiseh or what lor.

Then when I took this photo, aunty amy joined in the fun....

My aunt said that Pan Ling Ling came the other night but she didn't take photo with her. Too bad. Then my father said that Pan Ling Ling come, no one entertain her.. She very bored, in the end come talk to my father and tell him that he is very fat and getting fatter.... my god.

Huang shi nan treated us with tea. This is my cousin, Chuyun aka Shedico.

I think Shedico's father, my uncle, look like huang shi nan lor so I ask them to take photo together. I asked them why huang shi nan never inherit our family genes, short and fat. The men in the Huang family are all short and fat one but Huang shi nan was very tall. Huang shi nan said that he inherited different genes from them...

The night was long and we were all bored and tired. Huang Shi nan left at 12+am and I also left awhile after that to rest at Kanglong's home. My family all stayed at the wake and slept in the car but I didn't want to because I wanna bathe and KL stay nearby only.

My mum stayed the wake and went to sleep in the car leaving her handbag inside my father's van. The door was opened and my sister was sleeping inside. My father went to buy coffee and this careless little mistake caused my mum's handbag kana stolen!!!

How suay is that?! My mum lost her hp and her wallet and keys.. everything... haiz.. I went to get her a new sim card yday and get a new hp too. Then she also made a new IC today. Very suay. That thief also very daring. Dare to steal in a funeral. He will be cursed on lor. Heng inside not much money. Only $30.

The next morning, after prayers, it was a solemn time and my relatives were all weeping when we pray for the last time and look at my uncle for the last time. It was indeed very very sad. Huang Shi nan came again to go to the crematorium with us. I feel especially sad when I see my aunt crying over my uncle's coffin.

I didn't take many photos in the crematorium as it seems rude. My cousin did take a lot of photos though. She told me she will send them to me. I think I won't blog them cuz she will be blogging them. Please see Smartchic's blog.

This is the crematorium. You can vaguely see the coffin decorated with flowers. It was beautiful. I hope my uncle had a safe journey and can rest in peace. After all these years of fighting for money and power, it all boils down to same. Sheng bu dai lai, si bu dai qu. Finally, he can now rest in peace and leave the earthly problems to us.

House Got Thief

Before I blog about the house got thief, I wanna blog about this comment from my friend, James. I came across this comment when I was reading some old posts in my blog. In that post, I only typed 2 lines. So he commented this:

in the past, people write 2 lines and expect every1 to understand, interpret and say its good poetry.

why?

cos they dun have computer to blog thousands of characters. and paper still considered rare item back then.
those ancient people undernourished, anyhow imagine things, anyhow write things only themselves understand, forcing people to tune into their mindset and thus creating the category "poetry" where only a few undernourished people think alike.

so, write 2 lines means nothing except the writer is undernourished. no beauty at all.

Wow, I got lots of lame friends. Lol...... But James very long never visit my blog, I think he very busy also.... hmmm.

Back to the thief story.. I woke up one Sunday moring, or rather late morning and discovered that my mum is not in. The house was quiet, no sound at all. I went downstairs and saw my sister sitting alone on the sofa.

This is very strange because my sister pratically spends all her time at home either a) singing b) watching TV or c) playing games. Apparently it is very weird that she is just sitting there doing nothing.

So I asked,"yu xian, what you doing? Why never play game?"

She ignored me.

I asked the same question again. She raised her hands and did an action of playing games with the controller and indicated that there is no controller. Apparently, my mother has hidden the controller because she has been naughty. I told her,"go find la, lao ma not at home."

She heeded my advice and started searching....

She searched in my mum's dressing table...

and the drawers.

But she cannot find anything. I told her that she looks like a thief and I am going to take photos. They will be proof.

I didn't bother with her after that and went on to wash my face etc. When I came out, she was searching the wardrobe in my mum's room. Finally, she can't find anything in the wardrobe and she was about to give up. So I just anyhow say,"Aiyah, maybe inside the bag leh."

She searched in the bag and found the controller!!

The controller was found and my sister happily started playing.

When my mum was back, I told her our house got thief. At first she a bit shock then I showed her the photos. she found it very funny and went up to question my sis. By this time, my sister has stopped playing because she didn't want my mother to find out.

My mum ask her where is the controller and she said that she has hidden it.... Lol....

Later on my father also questioned her and she very honestly showed him that she has hidden the controller in her toy box. :)

My Blog Readers

I was reading some of my older posts from about 3 years ago. I read the comments and realised that many of the people who read my blog at that time are still reading my blog TODAY! I was kinda touched.

Then got Franxxis who still comment for me regularly~ (:D)

Got MD, regularly read my blogs when he bored.

And of course, the most loyal one is May. She always remind me what a loyal reader she is because she reads my blog every morning. Last time she always leave comments for me but nowadays she never. Too lazy liao I think. But I know she still reads my blog because till now she will comment on my entries when I met her. Then that day when eating steamboat, she kp that I very boliao. Only boliao people write blog. Nothing better to do. And I blog the most boliao things.. eg, the shark head.

Then I told her,"ok lor, then I don't write liao."

Then she said,"Write leh, if not I more boliao, nothing to read."

Want to read then complain it's very boliao lor. Come on~ It's me leh, Miko Huang leh, if I not boliao and don't blog things like Mung mung and shark head then its not me liao right? Imagine my blog to be very serious, in perfect english. Not me. Imagine my blog is about serious and matured topics. Not me also.

Then May said that I like weird and ugly thing, like the shark head. Apparently, all the things that she finds ugly, I will probably find it cute. My shark head is very cute what and mung mung is also very cute mah. He is very popular now leh. I don't know why she hates him so much.

Back to topic, I am very happy that so many people followed my blog till now and some more, now got more people like my 2 cousins~ They also regularly checkout my blog leh. Wah seh, so touching sia.
